The Shibutanis Thread Cinco...Mambo!

On social media, so many are talking about the Shibs being lowballed. Despite everything, they are still by far the most talked about American team. And for good reason.
Do they do a leveled draw? Like are H/D automatically going after the Shibs because they are in the top 3?

Yeah. It's ok. The Shibs just need an inspired and transcendent skate and hit their levels in the footwork sequences and twizzles.

Yes, H/D get to draw for one of the last three spots. Worst case scenario that Shibs draw first and H/D draw last. Or maybe it won't matter...

So, apparently, Maia and Alex are one of the worst teams doing that stupid rhumba pattern according to that technical panel :duh:. Just imagine if they were allowed to make mistakes as the other top teams and still get high scores.

2nd is a good place to skate. You can take full advantage of the warm up and still be 'warm' when it's time for you to skate.

Agreed. The Shibs need to hit their footwork levels, and I think they can do it because their side-by-side not only received a level 4 but the third highest GOE for it. Their GOE and PCS was actually a very nice surprise to me. I hope the Shibs will skate their FD even better and differentiate themselves from every other team not in the top 2 even more. It's clear the Shibs deserved higher PCS and GOE than every other team outside the top 2 (and in some parts they were better than P/C if we're being honest).

They also got a much bigger ovation than H/D, FWIW.

They also had a huge ovation in the TE SD and FD as well. This was a continuation of the 2017 4CC in this very arena where they had the loudest ovation.

Anything else? :/

But it's the Olympics. They'll do it.

AKA do their job. That level 4 SBS could not be denied. We know that unlike other teams, the Shibs don't get the benefit of the doubt with this tech panel so they have to force them to give them those calls. They need to do it!

So, the Italian, Russian, Ukrainian, and Japanese judge put the Shibs ahead of H/D. The rest put H/D higher, but the biggest difference in points was with the American judge Sharon Rogers. So much for the USFS doing what they can to promote the Shibs over the other ice dance teams.

Right, and they are also stupid and untalented because they keep getting Level 2 and aren't bright enough to do a single cottonpicking thing to improve. Oh and their coaching team sucks too! :/

Sorry, I shall return to being upbeat. Sigh.
