Where/how to watch:

CW tv network isn’t listed in the article but they’re also showing it live. They also seem to be the only channel still doing a one-hour preview show (10AM eastern). The parade itself begins at 11AM eastern.

By the way, I see that HGTV no longer telecasts the Rose Parade. (Boo!) They used to have the finest coverage…no ads, minimal talk, in HD.

The parade line-up (floats, bands, etc) is in this article:

I’m loving the City of Hope and Louisiana Tourism floats. Will one or both win top prizes (Sweepstakes and such)?

“Parade Countdown Show” just started on CW!

Watching on CW - no ads & the same hosts as used to do HGTV in years past, so this must be the “replacements” for the old HGTV coverage. Hurrah! Excellent!

I was surprised to see the Rose Queen and her court wearing masks, as the paraded on their float…sitting far from each other! WTH??? It was impossible to see their faces & smiles! Their big moment in the sun. Yet, marching band majorettes, flag drill teams, etc, marched sans masks…Grand Marshall & others in the historic cars sat shoulder to shoulder without masks…many other groups sitting & waving on floats, maskless…Shriners Hospital kids…etc, etc.

I love this parade so much more than our Philadelphia Mummers Parade (I don't want to sound like a traitor to my hometown, but ...). I remember some years when Terry Gannon co-hosted the Rose Parade. They even used the introductory music that ABC used for figure skating coverage!

I love this parade, too. The dedication shown by the people who work on the floats is legendary. I was watching with friends from New Orleans and they were a little more blase about it, but I guess epic parades are commonplace in their neck of the woods.

The USOPC should sponsor a float in this.

I've always loved the Parade, and it's the highlight of the New Year's Day festivities to me. I was disappointed that there seemed to be fewer city floats this year, maybe due to Covid issues. Many of the smaller cities, such as So Pas, were independent floats with local volunteers decorating.

I also wasn't thrilled with the musical performances mid-show and at the end.

I didn't check CW to see if they broadcast the parade in my city, but I also missed the HGTV broadcast. Hallmark Drama seemed to be broadcasting, but I don't get that channel. The commercials really seemed to dominate the broadcast. But the quality of the bands and floats in this parade is amazing, and I always love when the bands for the teams in the Rose Bowl Game show up.

I also did not care for the new mid parade and finale musical performance. We don't need that - no need to fix what isn't broken!

As a native Southern Californian I take pride in the Rose Parade. So gorgeous. I've actually never attended in person as a viewer. But I have gone to see the floats in person after the parade a couple times and I have actually marched in the parade. I was in tall flags in high school and had the chance to participate in a combined band commemorating the United Way. This was over 30 years ago now - I feel so old. I had to wake up around 1 am to get to the parade it was so surreal. We were the first act so I didn't get to see too many floats but at least we didn't have any horses in front of us. so no droppings to avoid! We also helped decorate the float earlier that week. I remember putting flowers into the little water vials. The painstaking work is incredible and most have to be done last minute because of the fresh flowers. Really happy the parade was able to take place this year. Next year it will be on Jan. 2 as Jan. 1st is on a Sunday and the parade never takes place on Sunday (cause long ago they said the church bells will spook the horses!)
