One of my favourite parts of collecting all thsi stuff is the opportunity to share it with the skaters themselves. One of those was Janet Sawbridge who was most famous for being the genius to pair up Torvill & Dean. But she had a stellar international career herself. Sadly, Janet passed away one year ago and i uploaded this for her family.

This video has caused a bit of excitement among former skaters. At the 1975 Worlds as part of the exhibition, three new compulsory dances were demonstrated.

I love how the audience applauded the partner swapping. Such a smooth transition between them, too. Both couples didn't miss a beat.

Watching the Schwomeyer & Sladky and Buck & Buck exhibition, I am reminded of a friend who said that at a competition years ago she saw in person, Krylova/Ovsiannokov and Gritschuk/Platov were practicing their compulsories on the same ice so closely together, it gave the impression both couples wanted to kill each other.

I stumbled on this video of Ryan Janke competing at the 2015 US OPEN. Just a beautiful, beautiful performance from Ryan here. I had forgotten what a gorgeous skater he was.

Believe it or not, I missed 22 Worlds (!). IOW, for the 1st time, I failed to watch Worlds since like 1979. I scoured Youtube but can't find anything except the occasional fan-cam. Does anyone know if they exist on Youtube? Can't believe I am searching incorrectly.

Watching Worlds this year was rewarding and joyful, especially for a Worlds after an Olympics. Do you only watch Worlds online or do you mind downloading? Perhaps some of us can help with upload links if there isn't anything online.

And for those of you who always fancied taking a lesson from John Curry - now you can! In 1989 he made a five-part series called Curry on Ice where he coached a group of mixed ability skaters through the basics of skating skills, jumping and spinning. ^ What a treat to see BB at such a young age. The face didn't look like Brian at all, LOL. That was a very mature performance for a 14 years old, especially from a boy too. I think Brian could've made a big artistic impact during his early career if he had worked with the right choreographer/stylist before teaming up with Bezic in 88.

This was craaaazy good for a 14 year old boy, I didn't know what to expect but it wasn't this. His control was insane even then!

Youre welcome! It's great to re-watch and always poses the question (for me at any rate) as to why a back outside death spiral in 1969 is so much deeper, lower, stronger and more beautiful than just about any back outside death spiral almost 54 years later!
