Almost a year since I last posted? But what a year eh? Anyway I've been uploading a few bits and bobs if anyone is interested?

One of my favourite parts of collecting all thsi stuff is the opportunity to share it with the skaters themselves. One of those was Janet Sawbridge who was most famous for being the genius to pair up Torvill & Dean. But she had a stellar international career herself. Sadly, Janet passed away one year ago and i uploaded this for her family.

More fantastic ice dance from yesteryear. Here's a special exhibition where two dance teams have a little fun with pattern dances, complete with a little parter swapping at the end...as you do

Footage of compulsory dances is very rare even from the 1970's and 80's...

This video has caused a bit of excitement among former skaters. At the 1975 Worlds as part of the exhibition, three new compulsory dances were demonstrated.
1975 Worlds CD demonstration exhibition with Swomeyer & Sladky (Yankee Polka), Regozcy & Sallay (Ravensburger Waltz) and Pakhomova & Gorshkov (Tango Romantica).

1978 Europeans - Kay Barsdell & Kenneth Foster CD (Rare early compulsory dance. Some here may know Kay and Ken who both coach out in New Jersey I believe, or did.)

Back to Schwomeyer & Sladky because they were awesome and way ahead of their time...
