Just noticed that some of the Ontario dates conflict with Skate Canada. I'm so happy London doesn't since I'm going to Laval. :) Wonder if there will be presales since I see a promo text box.

There is in my city so I would imagine so. I'm on the email list for our arena and it mentioned the presale starts tomorrow at 10 AM and runs until 10 PM Thursday night.

Don't know if this is true or not but I heard that Elvis is only doing the Moncton show?

Seems weird if true. Can anyone confirm?

Yes, there is a presale.

I am trying to get my hands on it.

I'll let you know if I do. LOL! :rollin::rofl:

Do I need to register to get emails to get the presale code?

He is listed as one of the cast on the website - there is a separate item for "Special Guests".

Elvis tweeted this out: Skating fans! We are coming to a town near you this fall! Super excited for this tour! Get your tickets soon, hope to see you there!

P.S. sorry for "triple posting" - I've been out all day.

I just got an email from Harbour Station in Saint John NB telling me the presale code is MEDAL. The presale is Thursday 10:00am - 10:00pm.

I don't know if that code is good for all shows or just Saint John.

But yeah, I bet if you sign up for the emails for the show you want, they will email you the presale code.

When I go into the tickets for St. John's there's no mention of a presale, just general ticket sales on Friday...I did email to check though. Will let people know if I find out anything.

I wonder who will be doing the choreography?

Interesting that they've scheduled the tour to overlap with the Grand Prix Circuit, meaning that it won't be possible for any competing skaters to take part (unless it's a one off guest appearance).

Will any more Canadian skaters be added? I suppose Skate Canada wouldn't want all of it's eligible skaters dropping out of the GP to do this tour. (Although of course it has the power to make rules around that).

Will this tour be approved by the ISU so skaters don't have any eligibility issues by sitting out the GP to participate? Not sure how those rules work. I can recall issues in the past such as skaters being threatened with a loss of eligibility if they sat out World Team Trophy but then did Yuna's All That Skate which was shortly after.

It's SKATE for the St. John's show.

I'm not seeing the promo code box that someone mentioned...do I need to be logged in first or where would I find it?

Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir to co-produce their own cross-Canada ‘thank-you’ tour
https://www.thestar.com/life/2018/0...ce-their-own-cross-canada-thank-you-tour.html

Though the details are still being worked out, in an interview with the Star, Virtue described the concept as a sort of scaled-down combo of a rock concert, dance extravaganza and traditional skating show.

It will feature some of Virtue and Moir’s closest friends, who happen to make up the majority of the Canadian Olympic figure skating team, as well as Elvis Stojko and a number of as-yet-unannounced guests.

When asked what they want to do creatively, Virtue said there is a “long list” but that budget and the limitations of small venues will rein them in somewhat.

“But” she said excitedly, “even things like having a stage and doing some off-ice dance, but then the choreography comes on to the ice. Or doing the lighting a different way. Or having loud music. Or confetti! We’re at that stage now where we’re just throwing out all our crazy ideas.”

Yeah seems like that rumour wasn't about Elvis.

There must be a special guest appearance by someone else in the Mocton show.

Maybe Kurt because that show is on the long weekend and he would have a break from CBC?

No idea....

Curious to know who now..... :shuffle:

It sounds like there’s 2 presales? One today that is the “tour presale” and another tomorrow that is the “venue Preasale”. I have yet to receive a code from either the tour or my local venue :( I think the MEDAL code others had received was for the venue presale? Did anyone get the tour presale code?

This fall there will be a 26 city tour to smaller markets across Canada with Virtue/Moir, Chan, Duhamel/Radford, Osmond, Stojko “and more”. Great to see this happening!

https://thethankyoucanadatour.ca

(And now KO’s announcement yesterday makes so much more sense ;))

Kaetlyn actually said this tour didn’t come about until after she’d already decided to sit out the Grand Prix.
