In TD Paso double (OD 1984) Jane costume was literally part of choreography and it was one of the most clever ideas of Dean. Bolero costumes are so iconic in the same way as their choreography and interpretation. Program is whole package for me and clothes are the part of it, even if are not marked by judges.
Besides I can judge legend's costumes freely.;):D

Yes, the second one is the rhumba pattern, all dance patterns are written in that form. The PSt is the partial step.
 
I wasn’t going to watch any clips because I wanted to debut the programs with Skate Canada on my big screen TV, but all this controversy has worn me down. LOVED it! LOVED everything about it, except for Scott’s hair. :p Tessa is a goddess! I can’t wait to see this live at nationals. :swoon:
 
It was so fun getting caught up on this thread! Bold choices lead to differing opinions- and IMO as with good theatre - that is a great thing. I loved every bit of the short dance - the intricacy, the interpretation, the costumes, the details, the attack, and that they were able to do something different for them after all the times they have done Latin dance. I love how fit they are, how confident they are, how they remain determined to improve throughout the season. And I LOVE the costumes which I think suit the dance perfectly and are also so different for them - isn't that why they came back? I am also okay if they change them - because I am just along for the ride this season with whatever they do. I loved Pink Floyd with the 60s look and I loved it in black and I understood the reasoning behind both. I started watching these 2 at Canadians when they won the junior competition, and I am so grateful for all wonderful skating I have seen from them along the way. I am trying to decide whether to remain unspoiled for the FD or not! It is so tempting to watch the practice footage after reading all the comments here. Hmmmm. I remain grateful for their return to competition and I cannot WAIT to see them live!

But I think maybe the blue one is not permitted?, isn't she showing much skin with the blue dress?, though I dont´t know if the rules are just about the SD costumes. And everyone know the movie, that dress would look out of place for MR.
 
I love the shape and fit of the Blue FD dress, especially compared to the Red actual competition one. Then again are there rules as to how much skin one can show? Or does that pertain to the SD only?
 
The only rules I've seen about exposed skin was for the SD. 50% of the torso must be covered or something like that.
 
I love the blue dress, I think the shape is absolutely exquisite and shows off Tessa's character so well. I prefer it to the red dress..if they want red I hope they keep the same shape of the blue one they practiced with Thursday.
 
I hate that style of dress on Tessa. I know it's movie accurate, but if she went with a glittering black cherry version of the practice dress, I would be so happy.
 
I'm the opposite - I hate the turtleneck front-covered, back open style like the blue dress. I also think the shape of the blue dress is way too close to the shape of the SD dress to be used for the FD.

Thank you so much for posting these, Shayii. I was sitting here alone at my computer, watching the first video when my jaw dropped nearly to my knees. I could not believe that I was seeing Tessa jump backwards up into Scott’s arms. I wish there was a way of slowing the video down, but I’m more than happy to take what I can get right now! Can hardly wait for this evening.

I am way behind so bear with me ... are they competing the fd today?

I can hardly wait til we have normal tv coverage to see the expressions and music better although thank you to the people that have filmed it!!

Yes they are competing their FD at the Autumn Classic International. They should be on in about an hour or so....
