TheWeekend, song wich they used when worked with Sam.
Or something classical - Clair de Lune, Chopin, Swan Lake.

What kind of ex do people want to see from V/M in their final year of competition?
I feel like their Olympic season EX is always very reflective of them. In 2010 they were young and naive and playful and so was their EX, in 2014 they had this longing and were emotional and so was their EX. Now when I think about them the words that pop into my mind immediately are - mature, experienced, sexy, sultry and powerful and this "packaging" (though it's really who they are) is one of (many) edges they got over all of their competition so I want their EX to reflect this. So I guess I want something that maybe resemble what James/Cipres are doing in their SP - both last season and this one...

I don't really care about exhibition programs. Just see them as a requirement they must fulfill per ISU and don't care what they do. If any given program by any given skater turns out to be enjoyable then it's a bonus.

I am glad that at least it doesn't appear as if they are playing second fiddle in terms of where they rank at their training camp. They are equally cared for. As a fan, i am nervous to see the French. Tessa and Scott just nail the short dance as well they should given their experience with competing the dance patterns, especially Rumba. In the free, if P&C do what they're capable to that gorgeous music, it's going to be close.

Funny how Tessa and Scott are no longer the balletic team. If anything, they're a less cluttered and more refined Davis and White. I cannot agree with Dave Lease though and his flunkie. That opening stationary lift... i was all in. There are moments that will create a mood to send chills up my spine, they need more time. They wanted something that would challenge them but THIS YEAR, they are healthy and can train a demanding program unlike when they battled injury with Carmen.

Whatever happens, this is going to be one hell of a year for Ice Dance. In the words of Sandra Bezic announcing Sasha Cohen at the 2014 Nationals " this is a very brave thing for them to do".

What does this mean? Do you really think that if V/M had chosen a ballet this year, that people would think they couldn't do it? I don't think that's true at all.

This has nothing to do with anything... did anyone notice Marie-France's Bob cut? That woman must be a vampire because she's not aging. She is quite beautiful, still.
Yes, the cut is beautiful on her. And why wouldn't she still be beautiful when she is just a bit over forty? In our times women can beautiful until a pretty "late" age if they take care of themselves. And men can also be good looking and attractive until a "'late" age.

I seriously think Tessa and Scott can become good actors if they want to after retirement. They have charisma, good looks and amazing acting skills. I'm not kidding.

I don't see that as something that interests Scott and find him a bit uncomfortable in that role which is probably why he always takes a comedic approach but can see Tessa in that field to some degree. Scott I totally see as moving into coaching but can see him maybe more interested in development with younger skaters closer to home. I think he is probably one of the most misunderstood personalities in skating today. To me he is the most down to earth guy who is all about home and family. Your can be that way and still be really competitive and want to show your best. ( not directed at you forthewin, just seemed to be the right place to add that in). I

I don't know if he's so much misunderstood...rather, I sometimes feel like he's been intentionally cast into certain personalities by various people for various reasons. ;)

She and Scott did a Scotch Tape Commerical several years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7l3LafH-6ng (she did all the talking LOL)
But my favorite has to be Scott's Belair Direct commercial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z749q0awxS4
(feat his '09 CD Paso Doble outfit :biggrinbo) I still laugh at it every time!!! He's so good with comedic stuff.

You forgot my favourite one:

Japanese commercials are consistently wonderful!

I listened to Lynn Rutherford's impressions on ACI on IceTalk just now. Just paraphrasing here, but she says Tessa and Scott looked great and came out terrific. Thinks she read a little too much on some of the fans sites (I wonder if she reads FSU, hi Lynn!) because there were varying opinions as people care so much and are invested. Thinks the SD music is superb, tremendous vehicle and they came out strong. About the FD Marie-France was not a fan felt it might be too Disneyish and not up to their level, but when they started to play with it she changed her mind. Lynn feels the first half is strong, thinks the second half will become stronger. Talks about the death scene being balletic, says they're talking about playing around with; Tessa specifically says they might make it more gory. Says both programs are incredible vehicles for Tessa because they show off her dance ability and upper body beauty of movement, not to diminish Scott because he's the strength and plays the jealous/rage well, but both programs made to order for Tessa. Thinks they're going to do quite well. Jackie Wong says they bring a different look and feel to the Roxanne part of the FD. Felt the ending, music specifically, was weak compared to the rest of the program, feels it fizzles out. I agree with the opinion on the ending. Anyway sorry this got long but I thought it was interesting.

Thanks for the summary! I actually loved the ending (but thought they could work on the step sequence in CWM a bit more), but I also get that it's not as audience friendly. I thought it was unique and riskier than ending on a big note, which is something they can pull off, but I wouldn't blame them for changing it around since it is the Olympics.

I definitely see what they are going for with the original ending and actually like that vision. Unfortunately, some times what we want to say isn't as effective to the general audience as one would like. I think the softer dying ending would work better if the program could have been 6 minutes and get the audience more into the romance and thus buy into the tragedy of her death after they vowed their eternal love to each other. Right now, the program starts in the middle of their relationship by showing us a problem in the relationship with jealousy and rage with the tango and then it sort of abruptly changes into declaring undying devotion and then death. I feel like a foundation of their love is missing to set up the emotion they are going for.
