Tarasova/Morozov Cheer Thread

I understand the strategy of getting them out as many times as possible, but it doesn’t help when she’s injured. With the injury, they really didn’t need this or Finlandia since they’ve already competed and went to test skates.

This is done, but I really hope they pull out of Finlandia at this point unless she happens to be 100% by then.

These are from the same account—absolutely stunning photos.

It seems they want more exposure to International judges and audiences. However, if Zhenya has an injury, it could get worse, so I am concerned.

Does anyone know why B&K were replaced by T&M?

T/M skate first in the SP at Finlandia. Really bad skating order. Nobody wins after skating first in the whole field. Always unlucky. Even if they skate perfectly, the judges will put M/G ahead of them.

I am also sick of people criticizing them for skating to "S/M'smusic". No skater owns a music and it was not even S/M's best performance. Two major errors.

Every piece of music has been skated to by other skaters. This childishness needs to stop.

T/M skated first at nationals in December 2018 and won that one. I do wish they had a better draw, but we’ll just have to see what happens.

I do agree the childishness over the music for the long needs to stop.

Throw 3lz from practice ?

Best of luck to T/M ?☘️?. I hope all goes well for them in Finland. They are competing a lot so far this season, I thought with Evgenia’s injury they might have skipped here to let her recover but maybe she is recovered? This is a high quality competition with a lot of big names but they easily have what it takes to win.

They had some bobbles in the step sequence and I thought they looked really tentative overall, but it was still exquisite and if they get 78-79 for this then they can get 80-82 for a clean program executed with fire.

I have not seen such a beautiful pair since Elena and Anton retired from skating (eligible and pro). They were exquisite.

That SP is beautiful. I hope they will make an LP out of it in the future (but they won't- skaters never do that).

Cross posting from GSD- video of working on their new SP. It is 28 min long. So far I have watched only the first 7 min.

Has anyone noticed that Vladimir has really developed artistically? He already had excellent basic skating skills and posture, but now he is using his arms really well, and he even has facial expressions.

yes, for sure. i just wish someone could get them to start relating to each other in an expressive manner now. i love this team for their sheer talent/skill level (as well as a weird fascination with how much she looks like claire danes), but their relationship to each other doesn't really come through in their performances. if they could figure out how to flip that switch, they'd be so next level!

We seem to be in a 'one step forward, two steps backward' situation. They landed a beautiful sbs 3S only to fall on the combination jumps and the th3Lz. They did execute all of their lifts successfully with good GOEs so that's also good. Not sure what to think anymore.

If they could just skate two clean programs, they could win everything.

I’m just frustrated for them more than anything else. As hard as this is for us fans, I can’t imagine what it’s like to be in their shoes.

I just read parts of the thread in K&C. Very disappointed that T/M did not skate well and lost to M/G. This solidifies M/G's position for the OGM and does the opposite to T/M. They needed to skate clean here. I think SA may be their last chance to prove that they are contenders.

Normally if a skater falls on a sbs jump it is not a big deal, but for T/M it is. First, it hurts their confidence, and second, everyone says here we go again, they just can't land the jumps. The fall on throw 3 Lz is less costly because they have landed it earlier. Had they landed this, perhaps the scores would have been closer. Seeing them get 8.75 for skating skills is ridiculous.

The best thing for me is to just not expect anything and enjoy whatever they give in competitions. Forget about any medals, particularly in the Olympics.

Well they arent getting any younger, Mishina / Galliamov are just more consistent and better jumpers.

But their Olympic hopes are still very much there.
Its a three way race for the remaining 2 spots between T/M, B/K and P/K whomever shows the better form in the GP and Nationals.

I think barring injury they should make the Olympic team. A medal at the Olympics is something we should not expect. Every expectation and every success seems to spook them. With every poor performance or even one fall on a jump they go down in the judges' esteem.

I hate so much that winning the big late in the season champions has become a political campaign of sorts instead of just what happens on the day.

Trying to be more zen/big picture about this.... I was so disappointed when V/M didn’t win dance in Sochi. The writing had been on the wall for a whole year prior, but as their fan, it was still hard. Then, they came back, had a great run, and triumphed in Pyeongchang. It was sort of a fairytale ending to their competitive career that Sochi would not have been if they’d won there.

T/M have just in the last 6 months finally found what seems to be the right team behind them. Maybe they don’t win this time, but then maybe they stay 4 more years and we really get to see what they’re capable of. It did, after all, take Savchenko five trips to the Olympics and until her mid-thirties to win the ogm.

I cant picture them staying another 4 more years , this is their very last Olympics cycle and their final chance to medal in the Olympics, They wont be competitive with M/G, B/K, P/K and other new younger russian pairs in the coming seniors.

Aliona Savchenko was consistent and resilient (she had multiple partners), cant say the same even for just Eugenia.

Evgenia has competed while injured, and not just this year. You don't think that shows her resilience? Why is skating with the same partner for years downgrade her in your opinion?

It will be T/M's decision if they want to compete past 2022 and for how long. I don't think fans should make that decision for them.

I know it is frustrating to watch them skate great one day and blow it the next day. However, our job as fans is to keep admiring their great qualities and hope that some day it will all come together.

I do feel that they skate better when they come from behind. Being leaders seems to affect the, negatively. So on my part, no expectations. I hope they will compete at SA because I will be there wishing them well.
