I can't. I am at the airport, waiting for my flight to Vegas. I decided on taking a noon flight so I could get my sleep.
I am not big on practices anyway. Competition is a completely different thing. I will watch the link for the practices of course.
Trying to keep my expectations low. Even if they win here, they still need to be low, going forward.

As always, skaters skip parts of their program when their music plays during practices. T/M did that too, but later they tried a throw 3Lz. She doubled it. They tried again and she landed it perfectly. Both landed sbs triples.
They stayed on the ice after all the other pairs had left. They repeatedly went back to their coaches.

A cautious skate but they got it done. I am relieved. Zhenya struggled with the 3t so much in the warm up that I was shocked when she landed it. She also just landed the throw 3R. After a fall on 3t in the warmup it looked like Zhenya may have injured her hand. I was worried. Still they were the best tonight.

she was really tilted in the air on the 3t, so good for her for getting all the rotations in and landing it!

They were wonderful! and the program really suits them. It's so important for them to have some clean skates like this under their belt. Also: that was a sweet moment in the K&C between Eteri and Evgenia.
I couldn't see the sweet moment between Eteri and Zhenya from where I sat. I do remember an earlier moment with Eteri though. Zhenya kept struggling with the 3t. After her fall during the warmup it looked like she had hurt her hand. She went to talk to Eteri. Of course I could not hear their conversation, but she returned to the ice, did a single jump, then she did a spin. I had expected her to either double the 3t or fall on it during their skate, but she landed it!
This program really suits them. Maxim was right. Even though Claire de lune was a beautiful SP, this one sets them apart from other skaters. I would love to see them skate an exhibition to CTD.
Just to add - I don't want to throw ice water on our good feelings but they still have to skate a strong LP to win. I can't get out of my mind what happened at Finlandia. I hope they have put it out of theirs and are ready to take on the challenge. I still want to keep my expectations low, but I wish them good luck tomorrow.

I went to the rink after BF, expecting it to be over, but the top three pairs had not yet skated. So I got to watch T/M's LP practice. Yay! They are such a treat to watch! I have not seen such a beautiful pair in a long time.
I recorded videos of two parts of their LP skate during today's practice. When they were not doing anything I had stopped recording.
Most of the practice was good. She had imperfect landings on throw 3Lz and sbs 3S but after the LP music they went back to those and got them right.
I am noticing that Zhenya is being rather cautious on the throw 3R. She used to have strong landings on throws. I don't think there is a problem though.

Oops! Too many posts by me on this page. LOL. Right now there is lots to write about. Hoping they skate clean and great tonight, but not expecting anything.
BTW B/K look really good live. They have speed, big throws. Only normal amount of struggle on sbs jumps. However, T/M are in a class by themselves.

I think it is good for them to get some wins without being perfect because I think it helps with the mindset that they must be perfect.
1st here also pretty much ensures a trip to the GPF.

And they didn't even need to be perfect (or even close) for a convincing win. That should be a big confidence-booster. Yay!

1st and 4th is pretty much all it takes at minimum to make the gpf, so they basically just need to show up at nhk.

Gold in one event and a medal in the other is almost always enough. Even gold and a 4th or 5th is enough sometimes.
It does not. Nothing is given. If they place second or first in their next GP that will ensure a trip to GPF.

I’m going to put it this way: I’ve never seen a 1st and a medal not make it. It’s unusual for a 1st and 4th not to make it.

They have to face M/G at NHK. Let us hope they skate their best and win gold, but if not, at least they have a cushion. B/K are now in a position where they must win their second event to control their own destiny. I am glad T/M aren't under that pressure.
