Survivor - Ghost Island

:angryfire to the producers that got my hopes up that Kellyn might be voted out.

Dom and Wendell are far from my favorite players, but at this point I would be fine if either wins because they seem to be the only original Niviti who aren’t all “zomg we need to stay Naviti strong!” and have reached over to the other side to at least explore what’s out there. I’d be fine with a Dom, Wendell, Laurel, and Donothan F4.

I get the feeling from the editing that Dom will be our winner this time around.

Yeah I am seeing a Dom win too, or possibly Wendell because the other players like him so much. This season is so boring - the boots were totally obvious last night. I’m going to see it through and then I think I’m taking a break for a while.

@Jayar the more I think about it the more I love your idea. Can you imagine the moment when Jeff does his spiel about now it's time to read the votes, if anyone has an immunity idol now is the time to play it, and then someone from the jury stands up and hands him one designating who it's for? DIE!

I'm not even watching this season btw, just following here and by the sounds of things, it's not a great season :(

I still don't believe Michael is really only 18. That is all. :p
Me too. He seems very mature. I could see him being invited back.
And ITA with Wendell/Dom - reaching out to the other side. At first I like how they ladies came together - but they have blinders on now.

And the 'winner's edit'... the people we just do not know, so I can't see winning:
Chelsea - she has won 2 IC
Sebastian - he is just there

Kellyn- she is annoying - why didn't they vote her out?

I could see Dom getting the winners edit but for a few weeks I actually thought that was falling on Angela. The last episode she was pretty listless, though.

For some reason I have this feeling that Laurel, Dom, Wendell, and Donathan really may succeed until there are five left, and that’s where Angela (or whoever else is left as the fifth) may be able to step in and break it into a 3-2 vote for one side.

It’s too bad, this really should be a much better season imo. The “breaking the past curse” concept is interesting but it resulted in having 5000 different advantages in play, which got confusing. Multiple switches early on made it hard to keep track of the players. Jenna who? Half the cast isn’t memorable.

Even the 2 tribal twist might have played out better if someone would drop this Naviti strong nonsense. I’m not done with the show yet, but I’m just not invested in this season.

This season has definitely been snoozy. The concept of Ghost Island and "reverse the curse" is actually pretty interesting, so I place the blame for this season firmly on the cast (with a couple of exceptions). Did Jenna even say anything before this episode?
I liked Michael a lot, and I still quite like Dom, Wendall and Laurel.

Since there are no current TAR or BB threads, thought I'd throw this out here - Amazing Race may be planning an all-Big Brother edition.

Oh, vomit. I already didn’t watch any of last season because of the presence of Jessica & Cody. I definitely won’t watch a season made up entirely of old houseguests. Their seasons are so long, I am sick of everybody by the end.

The only thing I remember Jenna commenting on in previous episodes is her RBF.

I wonder if there HAS been an idol planted at tribal council, and nobody has found it yet. I would love it if there was one at the voting station-- voting out someone who did not have an idol who suddenly has an idol would be epic. They could vote out someone with one vote and shock the hell out of everyone. Having the jury involved would seem overly manipulative to me, though.

I have a wild twist to introduce for next season. No immunity idols, no advantages, nothing hidden, no nothing. Just sixteen players. Playing the game. Is that too wild to suggest??

Well I meant skipping next season at least and probably more. I might just be done with the show.

I know what you meant. See you next season. :D

I have said this for years - got back to season 1. Can you imagine how crazy some people would get trying to find nonexistent idols?

Please tell me that is a lately timed April Fools joke? I don't even watch Big Brother so won't know who any of those people are but ......... I can't stand it when they cast people from other reality shows on Amazing Race! Get real people who are fans of the show! Not "reality stars"!!!!
:mitchell:

This is one of few seasons that I kind of wish that no one could win; they are all obnoxious to me (with the exception of Laurel, and to a slightly lesser extent, Donathan). I think that Wendell and Dom are at least playing the game, and are competitive even with each other, as allies, which I do like to see. I want Kellyn off my screen, and Chelsey already has been (seriously, for winning 2 individual immunities, she's freaking invisible). While I'm not giving up on the show because it still amuses (and on rare occasions, surprises) me, but this is not a stellar season in my book.

I would like to see three scenarios-- (1) Have everybody be on the same tribe and have individual immunity from day 1. They could do it like they did this week where each week they have two randomly drawn tribes competing against each other and one going to Tribal Council. They could ensure that there were an equal number of men and women on each tribe to ensure as much equality as possible. In times when there is an odd number, the last person standing would get immunity and go to tribal council with the losing tribe. (2) Two tribes battle it out for immunity. Which ever tribe wins gives immunity to one member of the losing tribe. Could totally mess with everyone's heads. (3) Immunity Idols on each beach that once found, must be given to someone on the other tribe.

Keep reality stars off of reality TV?

:D

No no, I mean I don't like it when people who have been on one reality show and become popular via that show (say BB), then go on another reality show (Amazing Race) only due to their status from having been on the first reality show (BB). Or something like that. I hate cross-show casting! :P

I too think this season is not exciting and people are blah... But! this season i really like the challenges. a lot of them combine both athletics and thinking.

I like Laurel. I would like to see her win. I enjoy her style of play. Being really chill, but involved in many, many discussions and planting "ideas" in other people's head (which often end up happening).

I'd be okay with a Donathan winning if Laurel is targeted and eliminated for being too big a threat. Even though his name is a typo.

And Angie has been betrayed by enough people, and ignored by many, disallowed to play...if everybody targets each other and she stays around until the finale and wins just because everybody else is disliked too much, I'll have a laugh about Angie winning and think, "good for you". :D

They are all CBS shows though, so it's probably about ratings?

re BB/TAR - I think part of it must be the same reason they always cast the new Bachelor/Bachelorette from among previous contestants - they are known entities to the producers, people willing to play along with reality style programming. (Ie playing up their characters, giving good confessionals/interviews, having no issue when they have to reshoot something etc).

BB has a core loyal audience, but what I don't see is what they bring to TAR, which I thought has always enjoyed a much broader audience and decent ratings. You'd think it would be the other way around, wanting to secure some of the TAR audience to boost BB. I recall on the rare occasions when someone from BB (and I think TAR once maybe?) show up on Survivor, it's barely a storyline because most viewers have never heard of them.

Natalie and Nadiya 'Twinnies for the winnies' or whatever they said re: TAR --> Survivor

Latest names being talked about are Rachel (several BB, at least one TAR already) and Caleb (one BB, two Survivors).
