Skate to Milano OWG Qualifier - Beijing CHN - Men's SP & FS

When an Irish skater uses soul I always think of "The Commitments" and "I'm black and I'm proud" scene. Somehow it all feels right to me.

Well that camera angle was certainly a choice - I couldn’t tell if Jarvis landed that jump or if the boards ate him

wtf was that breaking noise 😂 - I had to check to make sure one of the dishes didn’t fall down in the kitchen

But great overall skate and I love how Jarvis tries to sell his choreography- I’ll overlook him using RiYBE for that ❤️

Thank you I'm multi tasking a little while watching the skating so I'm not in the thread but I came here just to make sure that I hadn't imagine the dishes breaking noise because I'm using headphones.

Pretty solid skate - went out & did his planned content - and delivered a good performance as well.

No Chinese men, but let’s see if they try to pull anything with the Russians from non-banned countries :sekret:
There are a few of those...

Daniliants, Vlasenko, Gartung, Reshtenko... I don't think any of those guys but Gartung have a realistic shot at sneaking into the top 5.

Jarvis Ho was fun. He choreographed that himself? I'm impressed, as it was an actual choreographed and interpretive program, unlike so many other programs we see.

The ability to do these jumps seems like it's right there, but he couldn't quite get the combination of speed, and timing right today to land them well.

That looked like a credible quadruple toeloop attempt. Couldn't quite get the jumps to come together today.

The overall impression was quite sloppy, and unfinished. Ze Zeng struggling to push out his technical elements with the energy needed to make them successful.

Burak just seemed to give up on the performance after the mistakes on the Salchow, and the flying camel spin. It was barely a jump drill through to the end of the program.

Lots of spin troubles but kudos to landing two 3As. Also credit for using another piece from Notre Dame de Paris besides that overwrought guttural Esmeralda song (now if only he actually skated to the music :p)

weird voiceovers into a bizarro Vivaldi Winter remix is certainly a choice
I'm assuming it's from the movie The Handmaiden??? I haven't seen the movie though lol so I cannot confirm.

Well, Daniliants just laid it down with a lot of good tech content. The men in places 3-5 are going to have to be solid and not give away any jumping passes.

Ugh. After starting off so strong, Tamir has two popped jumping passes. This won't move him up.
