Quad Lutz and Quad Sal looked under to me. Probably won’t even get a second look.
Ted started to say that one of them was probably under and then looked and checked himself, because it wasn't marked under. It wasn't clear whether that was after review, or when it was never reviewed.

I never get nervous about Malinin, because I know what he's capable of, and because any mistakes he makes are likely to be offset by whatever else he does. Especially this early in the season - didn't he have major lapse in concentration in the FS at SA last year? Or whatever his first comp was? I am certain he will have it together by Worlds, if not Nats (where there is less competition).

ITA with whoever made the comparison to Biles. I respect the technical power and skills even if they are in no way my favorites to watch.

I am happy overall with the results. Kevin winning the free, Ilia winning overall based on the two programs. Ilia is focused on testing out new tech and being clean is less important now, a bit over scored on PCS relative to others who are strong in PCS but he also brings the wow with so many highlights like the back flips, raspberry twist etc. and those really help to bring in the crowd even more. Congrats to Ilia on his win and Kevin on his amazing skate!! And redemption for Kao!

Ted thought the 4z was under then said "nope, it was marked clean" - I don't think he mentioned the 4s at all during the review.

NGL, I don't really worry about Ilia not crushing every event to start the season. I felt the same last year when he struggled in France. There's no need to peak too early.
I feel the same way.

Also, I am so glad Kevin skated well, but I worry what does he do the rest of the year? Where can he improve? And if his next skate has 1 mistake (which is still quite good) does he get down on himself?

To have skated 2 near perfect programs back to back and then also won the free - I hope this is just what Kevin needed. I am desperate to see him skate like this in Boston.

This costume is a classical music costume to an emo rock song and it's honestly a little distracting
You will know they are vampires by their poet shirts

Skorniakov: I thought you would be doing a quad.
Malinin: no
Skorniakov: not ready yet?
Malinin: no
Thanks for this

The mens delivered today! (mostly)

Well, he was a little shaky on the 4t+2t combo in the SP yesterday, so that's somewhere he can improve. He may also look to upping it to a 4t+3t as the season progresses and he continues to regain confidence.
