Skate America 2024 Womens SP - No Country for Old Women

Skating isn't on cable/satellite at all here. It's on the streaming service of one of our public service free-to-air broadcasters, and they also show highlights packages on their linear TV channel on weekend afternoons, so it's entirely possible for someone random who has never watched skating to stumble across it, and a commentator explaining how things work is a very good thing in that circumstance.
Actually I had it on yesterday and a co worker got very interested in it and she only knew very basic info so it helped. She actually said she was going to watch the long program to see what happens so maybe this is how fans are developed. On demand for us really helps too.

I really like Kaiser's SP. It's just modern in a way that still feels classic. It's sultry, it's musical and phrased so well throughout. The choreography has moments of elegance, moments of power, and moments of WTF.

Mixed reaction for me. Kaiser's skating looks superb when she stands up tall and when she rotates in the air. So quick! But there's something off in her hip/leg positions in spins and footwork. Maybe a lack of natural hip turnout and a slightly bent leg.

Well, so far, I've only had time to watch the first flight of Women SP .... and it's now RD "live" time. Gosh, I have to say that a lot of you were brutal in your comments about Bradie's dress. It's just a dress! I was so happy to see her skate as well as she did after all the problems she's overcome. Like the audience, I was cheering at the end .... enjoyed the program very much.
