I think Broussard is trying to be balletic, and I don't think that's what Jason Brown is aiming for.

Brown and Broussard both have epic flexibility, but that is where the similarity stops, I think. Maybe Broussard will one day match the balletic style of Patrick Chan, but he has a ways to go to get there in terms of mastery over the blade.

Chiu’s program has a lot of just skating back and forth with not much happening between the jumps

Chiu: 3S (intended quad, I'm guessing for the layout). 4T/3T tight but landed. 3F. 3A nice run out. Fly sit a bit slow. Choreo steps, men. 3F (fall out) 2A seuqnece. 3Z/E/2S 3Z FW sequence, putting in some energy but slack through the arms. Combo spin then camel spin to end.

Decent tech but just lacks polish.

I thought I heard an edge to Barton's voice for Chiu's short program that made me think he was going to be on the phone to both Murphy's, but he sounds calmer today.

For a moment I thought there were going to be two all-green reduced-content programs in a row, but, alas.

Sadly Chiu has regressed over time. He has a habit of delivering his best performance at Nationals which keeps getting him great international opps he fails to take advantage. I would rather see those opps go to other skaters even other head cases who at least have big upside thanks to technical ability or skating skills.

Is this ice surface smaller than some? Wesley was SO close to the boards at times and I remember hearing Bruno saying to Ryuichi yesterday (in the KnC), "I know you were worried about the size of the ice."

I watch Chiu, and all I think is sloppy. Small balance adjustments. Rushing movements and not finishing them. And then he's just emotionally checked out of the performance. I don't see where they're going with this, and how this program is supposed to grow him when the material isn't pushing him.
