There is no indicator for private conversations any more on my profile.

How does one initiate those and follow-up on them?

Top right of the forum where your little profile picture appears, there should be an envelope symbol next to it?

Also, you may have to go to β€œpreferences” on your profile and re-tick some boxes for alerts.

Please tell me you are kidding. You asked that an emoji that made YOU uncomfortable be removed? How about don't look at it. I love it.
πŸ€“
A yellow face smiling with thick, black-rimmed eyeglasses and buck teeth on most platforms. Styled after a stereotypical nerd, with buck teeth a racist caricature historically mocking East Asians. Some feature white-taped glasses, another nerd trope. Smile and glasses vary across platforms.

I didn't know the new emojis are carbon copy from twitter (?). If I'm told it's impossible to remove it since it's included in a series, it can't be helped. However, when I'm told, "Don't look at it" since only ME feel uncomfortable with it and someone loves it regarding a mark which was styled after a racist caricature, what should I say?

I am flabbergasted at the connotation of this emoji. I do not use twitter. Are there emojis racialist styled emojis?

IINM, it used to be that it was not possible download someone's avatar if it was a GIF or JPG. This appears to have changed. Would it be possible to protect such icons so that they cannot be downloaded without the user's permission?

I'm using internet explorer and its Windows 10. It doesn't seem to be happening with any other websites.

I was using IE 11 whenever I came to FSU. I can no longer use it, however. I found I got stuck using IE 11 whenever I clicked on one of the alert notices. I couldn't scroll upwards or downwards afterwards. The same thing would happen whenever I clicked on the quick link to the latest post by a person. What I refer to as the quick link is just to the right the threads.

I switched to Edge Browser and haven't had any problems whatsoever.

I love it, too! There is also the emoji keyboard we can use for more emojis. I know it works with Windows 10. I'm just not sure about others operating systems. If you click on the Windows Icon plus the period (.) on your keyboard, the emoji keyboard will appear. I like to use those emojis, too.

Also editing to say that I didn't know or realize the nerd emoji was racist.

Thanks. And I didn't know either.

Up until yesterday, when someone quoted someone on my Ignore List, there was no indication that there was any quoted material other than the quoting person's response. Now I see this:
Ignored Member said:
You are ignoring content by this member. Show ignored content.

I have deleted the hyperlinks and omitted member's name omitted for the sake of privacy.

I understand that some people want to know that an ignored member's post is being quoted, but I would prefer to keep the reminders of certain ignored posters' existence to a minimum.

Could we please go back to the old system? :saint:

If there is a groundswell of support for the new system, I will just :slinkaway.

It has been like this for a number of years. No changes have been made here.

No, it hasn't. There has been an issue where two posters would comment on something, a third poster would reply to the first poster, and the second poster would think that the third poster was replying to her because she had the first poster on her Ignore List and couldn't see that the third poster was actually replying to the first.

I find when an ignored poster is the newest post, then I get that message. Otherwise nothing shows up and I have to pay attention to the thread count to see if there's an ignored post someone is responding to.
ETA: OK, @Vagabond is right. I was just in PI and I'm getting that message when someone quotes a poster who is on my ignore list.
