Petrosian and Sadkova have told the press that they slept badly last night because the pairs skaters and ice dancers partied too hard and it was too loud at the hotel :lol:.

For those of you who just tuned in, this is a good interview that touches on the dark side of Russian skating. Some of it is undoubtedly true of skating in other countries, but some of it is not.

What she's advised them is to keep their mouths shut and stay off social media until things are sorted out. Tarasova will spout off (but who cares) but you won't get something from Moskvina, Mishin or Tutberidze until decisions are made.

At least according to the article quited Moskvina did not advice anything to anyone. She keeps repeating she have not yet read the ISU release and doesnt comment on anything written there

At a press conference held on December 25 in Moscow dedicated to the upcoming Youth Games, the acting president of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (RFSF), Olympic champion Anton Sikharulidze, stated:

-- If we talk about the Russian-Chinese Games, then there will be all four types of figure skating. There will be three participants from our country for girls and boys, and two pairs for pairs and dance. Competitions in the junior category - 13-19 years old.

At this age, we have very strong guys who are not inferior to adults in technical equipment, and in some cases even beat them. I think that these guys will show themselves brightly at these Games. Our guys won all the previous competitions. But even though our Chinese comrades are really friends, I would still like to wish our guys victory.

We are closely watching the junior team, because these are the guys who will compete in 2030-2034. It is good that they will participate in competitions to learn to perform under high pressure, said Anton Sikharulidze.

The Russian-Chinese Games are the first major international competitions in the Russian calendar for 2025. 112 athletes from Russia and China will take part in tournaments in such Olympic sports as ski jumping, Nordic combined, snowboarding, freestyle skiing, alpine skiing, curling, short track, figure skating, and cross-country skiing.

The venues will be five sports facilities in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk: the Vysota ski jump complex, the Triumph ski and biathlon complex, the Gorny Vozdukh ski complex, the Vostok training center, and the Kristall sports palace.

They have to have their selections made by the end of February. They get to name 1 AIN and 1 substitute for each discipline.
 
It's all about the rules. Mish/Gal won nationals because Boi/Koz let nerves get to them. Their GP final is in March so if they have to decide before March, it will depend on the rules because I think Mish/Gal are the more secure team with regard to rock solid consistency. But, Boi/Koz have had an amazing season and have a superb SP (that they should keep for next season). Either team is a medal threat at the Olympics so in that regard it doesn't matter which is sent....except to the team who doesn't get to go and that's just a fact of life and no point debating it. Personally, I'd love to see Moskvina win another OGM, but it's out of her control on whether her team or Tutberidze's goes to China and then to Italy. Although in her 80s and she shows no sign of slowing down so she may coach for another quad. Who knows?

But Dikidzhi and Petrosian will be the singles entry. His 4A is competitive with Malinins with the caveat Ilia has jumped his in big compeitions and Vlad has not. Petrosian has a solid 3A and 2 quads so she's the women's pick for certain, barring some weird happening.
