They were 6th in Beijing, so I'm not sure how much of a risk that would be in 2026.Bukin wasn't allowed to compete in 2018 due to mysterious (to the public) reasons. I think choosing them would be risky.

But that was before the ban and the extremely strict rules choosing their one representative for each discipline. They were 6th in Beijing, so I'm not sure how much of a risk that would be in 2026.
Which rules do you think they'd have problems with? Or at least more than other Russian skaters? But that was before the ban and the extremely strict rules choosing their one representative for each discipline.
Isn't there something in there about not being connected to skaters or coaches that have had doping violations? I haven't gone through it recently but I thought that was a thing. Bukin already got rejected once before. Back in the day I heard it was about not having done enough tests but that doesn't seem plausible to me. The IOC would know what he did or didn't do, it doesn't matter if his penalty was from 8 years ago, he'd still be a liability if in fact he was rejected for doping.Which rules do you think they'd have problems with? Or at least more than other Russian skaters?
Adelia Petrosian's coach is Tutberidze: it doesn't get any more connected than that. Why would S/B be more of a risk than Petrosian?Isn't there something in there about not being connected to skaters or coaches that have had doping violations?

I think she’s a test of the ISU’s spine.
the guy is a flakeElena Ilinykh posted something rather cryptic on IG the other day.
What is going on with her and her husband? Is he out of favor with Putin now?
Obviously implicit non verbal. If you can’t define that then anyone could be banned for any reasonWhich rules do you think they'd have problems with? Or at least more than other Russian skaters?
I agree. Tutberidze will use the excuse of "It wasn't me, it was Kamila and her grandfather's backwash" and use that as a way to get Petrosian through.Probably. I expect they’ll fail.
She would still have to be judged on if she implicitly nonverbally supported the war by being in channel one cup show several times. It’s not really a competition. It’s a show paid for by and organized by channel one. Everyone is paid by a sanctioned pro war companyI agree. implicitly nonverbally
It’s how the isu says it will determine if a Russian is eligible or not. No one can define it. It’s the key isu criteriaDo you get paid by somebody for the number of times you repeat this phrase?

ITA. The good thing for the fed, is they have 4 skaters who will have no problems getting that Olympic spot, so they really have freedom to choose.Haven't watched Ice Dance and Ladies today, but Men's LP was amazing.
I have no idea what the Fed should do and whom they would choose.
I would go with Gumennik and Dikidzhi in any order given the criteria but would be happy for almost anyone
Feel free to spoil, i have seen the results and do not plan to watch everyone anywayThe ladies were solid. I won't spoil it for you as there were a couple of surprises.
Then watch Mura. Best SP skate she's had all season. I'm not usually a fan or hers, but she was flawless today. Frolova has become such a mature and beautiful skater. Adelia fell on the 3A for the first time all season.Feel free to spoil, i have seen the results and do not plan to watch everyone anyway
I liked her with Filatov and the partner before that, her current partner doesn't elevate the team at all.KhudaberdievaShe was such a talent when she first came on the scene in juniors; for a brief while it seemed like she was on a trajectory to be one of the big stars of the sport.
I get the feeling in part that he was trying his best to be "diplomatic" (words fail me here), in his mind, to protect his family, both those in Russia and the Ukraine. His grandparents went through the ringer. He thought it would protect them, but he saw for himself....that nothing would come from that really.Well said.![]()
If there is a country with ice dancers that are built like synchro skaters please share! I don’t see any! I see all dancers are super super thin and non normal size at all! What is Russia's obssesion with emaciated ice dancers? What they've done to Vasilisa is crazy...she is a shell of herself with little or no real power. I much prefered their performances earlier in the season...what I saw today was disappointing and weak. She had little control of her blade. I understand completely the reservations of some countries towards Russia's return to international competitions.
so what if I am being paid to say implicit nonverbal support must be totally absent? Is that badI think you’ll find that’s not what I asked.
Uh, are you being paid? Who cares enough about Russian participation in the Olys to pay for troll posts on a figure skating message board?so what if I am being paid to say implicit nonverbal support must be totally absent? Is that bad
There won’t be Russian participation because of the implicit nonverbal test. Unless it has been defined and all skaters have been cleared of implicit nonverbal supportUh, are you being paid? That did not answer the question about your posts. There won’t be Russian participation because of the implicit nonverbal test. Unless it has been defined and all skaters have been cleared of implicit nonverbal support
What’s the importance? That did not answer the question about your posts.
We actually need to know if people are paid to post here, whether for commercial or political reasons. What’s the importance?
