Plushenko needs a trip to the barber shop. ASAP.
Nobody does. It's just some abstract music behind some elements to help Stepanova learn how to skate and show off her rear end. The RD also has no connection with the music. I like and see the wealth of potential in Nek/Kag. His nerves in the RD did not affect the impression at all. The FD was even better.I don't understand Stepanova/Bukin's FD.
I think they're just mentally exhausted, especially Kozlovsky and then when she gets nervous, they implode.Boikova/Kozlovsky can't have a clean skate even if their lives depended on it.
Russia, in my opinion, was banned for the wrong reasons. It should never have been political, but rather about the doping, it was always about the doping and the authorities being too spineless to act because lump it or leave it, Russians bring the fans. I anticipate that the world will respond with dignity, and the competition will be fierce.I love how everyone is suddenly fine with racism and hatred against certain nations if it goes against Russia.
Enjoy the Olympics with Russia back in the game!
Has not he needed it whole of his life?Plushenko needs a trip to the barber shop. ASAP.
And to show the world how beautiful she really is ....Nobody does. It's just some abstract music behind some elements to help Stepanova learn how to skate and show off her rear end. The invasion of Ukraine demanded an immediate response but also forestalled any meaningful IOC effort to deal with doping in Russia. If Russia ever withdraws from Ukraine, then maybe the IOC, WADA, et al. can address the doping.Russia, in my opinion, was banned for the wrong reasons. Personally, I think the invasion gave the IOC an excuse to ban Russia (for the doping) for the invasion. That way, they could enact an immediate ban, avoid appeals and hearings, and kick the can of actually dealing with doping in Russia down the road. The invasion of Ukraine demanded an immediate response but also forestalled any meaningful IOC effort to deal with doping in Russia. Nothing, however, prevents Russia from addressing the doping now.
Am not sure a clean Mishina/Galliamov would beat a clean Muira/Kihara, frankly.
Last time I checked this was a discussion forum. I am expression my opinion about skaters funded by an organisation targeting and killing civilians in Ukraine on a daily basis being allowed to compete. Perhaps put me on ignore like you do for these atrocities? If the thought of Russia and Russian skaters is so disgusting to you, why the hell are you even in this thread? You are free not to read all of this stuff related to Russian figure skating.
LMAO. Really - I agree with @rfisher who has repeatedly asserted all season that Petrosian is the only one who is potentially competitive with Sakamoto or Glenn right now. The rest would be in the mix for Worlds Top 10 depending on how the whole field skates on any given day.So, this was the best answer to those who doubt the quality of Russian girls. The level was very high overaly.![]()
My feed wasn't glitchy and both quads were clean. Daria Sadkova has been a nervy skater, but she's steadily improved all season and had a great competition this weekend. Gorbecheva's nerves got to her and she fell on her 2nd quad and then popped a jump, but she's another who has steadily improved. Muraieva had a great FS (one of her best in a long time), but her SP kept her off the podium. She's just not consistent. Frolova doesn't have the Ultra-C jumps and today just couldn't compete against Petrosin, Sadkova and Gorbecheva even though she's a lovely mature skater.Petrosian - Nice 3a - definitely comparable to Amber's. 4t+2t solid; another 4t - stream is a bit glitchy but it looked like she may have two-footed. Oh, she definitely two-footed the first jump on her 3+2+2 combo. I really hate "Maria de Buenos Aires", fyi (I hate most Piazzolla tangos, tbh). Well, she'll win. We'll have to wait and see if she'll be accepted for AIN status.
Oh, the first one in combo was definitely clean, and I wasn't sure about the 2nd - I thought it could have been the stream. My feed wasn't glitchy and both quads were clean.
How often do the japanese go clean?I haven't watched them in a while. Well i just watched their MJ free skater, and they are as boring as ever and have as bad packaging as ever that feels 30 to 40 years old.
Great tech skills as always, but a clean Miura/Kihara should be beating them on the PCS mark handily.
I probably won't be awake much longer. I'm nodding off here (though I really have only myself to blame since I turned on the French stream and Les Kovs are what they are, lol).If you're going to watch the men, just FF through the first group until Vetlugin. He's 50% on his quads, but his skating is very Kolyadaesque and very enjoyable.
I enjoyed Ignatov, wasn’t sure what to expect as it’s been a few years since I have seen him and I was impressed.Men's competitionw as thrilling but not without surprises (which is not surprising at all when it comes to men, and not just Russian, when I remember GPF).
