Good event for Sofia -- two strong, confident, almost perfectly clean skates, another 4th, and her ticket to Nationals is (most likely) punched! I was interested to see that it was her PCS that held her there. Her TES was pretty low, but her PCS was less than a point behind Maiia's. The judges must be liking the voidiness. Also, her ice coverage is definitely better.

I'm finally getting a chance to catch up on the other ladies. Trusova -- wow. She may not be one of my favorites, but that was special. If she can get that program clean and keep skating with that energy, she'll blow the roof off.

Aliona looks a little unsteady yet, and the program needs more in-betweens, but that's good music for her. She has the presence for it.

Seemed odd but I thought maybe Buddhist circle. It had nothing to do with “Man with Harmonica” - Clint Eastwood cowboy films!

I enjoy both of her programs, esp the long. So quirky!
