Roman Sadovsky against reducing value of quads

Roman sounds like a stand-up comedian: "The triple axel is a dragon. You can try to tame it, you can try to control it, but at the end of the day, it's going to do what it wants."

I've never heard Roman's speaking voice before. He's got a cool personality and a well-balanced outlook. :) ETA: No, I have heard him speak before, but it was just in one of those lame after-skate interviews with canned, often eyes-glazed-over responses...

"I believe I did the most quads in the [Cdn Nats] competition, which for me is like [explosion sound] it doesn't happen... I always used to be the artistic skater, and I feel like no one really treated me seriously in terms of the technical aspect. But now, ya know what? I got some stuff, I got some stuff..." :D

I think he's being serious and tongue-in-cheek at the same time. :p

"... The question remains, to quad or not to quad? I see people making a bunch of comments in the Youtube section of figure skating videos. I feel like people are always talking about [it] and the skaters' opinions are not really put into it that much. So, I'm gonna give you a skater's opinion..."

 You tell 'em Roman! :watch:

Roman 'pet-peeves' about his facial pimples... Sometimes it's connected to diet in combination with hormones I suppose. Roman should try a natural remedy: mix turmeric (the spice) with a little water so it makes a paste. Spread the paste over a few pimples and leave it on for several hours or overnight, allowing it to dry. Wash your face in the morning, clearing away the residue (be careful as it can stain clothes orange). Apply the paste every day and see if that might help to eventually clear up the pimple break-out. Of course, there's all kinds of skin products on the market too, but sometimes natural stuff you can use from the kitchen is the way to go. And maybe see a holistic nutritionist about diet changes that might also help. (Pssst, cut out all that white sugar when you make French toast Roman; the maple syrup over the French toast is more than enough sweet content).

Did Roman actually jump over that moving car? Maybe he should have a second career as a stuntman!

^^ Those Q&A's queries from fans in that last link! Roman: "I hate to disappoint some of you, but I am a straight individual..."

It goes to show once again, we shouldn't judge a book by the cover we may perceive; don't label people, especially not male figure skaters. ;) Both Roman's parents are Ukrainian, so some of that Russian/Soviet Union-era fs aesthetic influence rubbed off on Roman apparently, as he's such an expressive skater with a smooth skating style reminiscent to that of Johnny Weir. There are obviously some other famous figure skaters with Ukrainian roots: Viktor Petrenko, Oksana Baiul, Aliona Savchenko...

It's nice to see that Roman is now mastering the quads too, and that he loves to jump and he's also interested in being a well-rounded artist. His off-ice personality seems different from his skating, but that's not unusual for young athletes who are still maturing. Seemingly, Roman feels more free and focused since graduating from high school.

Isu thought making underrotations punished would help men rotate quads! it didn’t! Men stopped doing them almost entirely! Quads were vanishing. They were going to become a lost element. If you reduce quad values and don’t reduce spin and step sequence values as well you abolish all quad attempts in Skating again. If isu wants total abolition of all quads you reduce their value and nothing else’s.
