Project Runway 2017

I just watched the episode. Did they show the 10 minute preview into next weeks episode as they usually do? I just want to know which one is finally gone. And the drama at the end of the episode next week should be :summer:

I read some worrying speculation Tim Gunn might use his save on one of the twins and they might both stay :scream: That could explain the other drama.

I guess the Twin Drama must continue because the other designers are getting on with each other too well.
I'd be less tired of the double act if either one were coming up with great designs. But they've managed to stay on the show because of they are 1) family 2) freaking out on each other

I finally watched the episode and I'm confused about why Claire wanted to tie that piece of fabric across the chest. If the judges hated it as a belt, I would have loved to have seen their reaction to that!

I wish Kentaro or Brandon would have won. I totally would have bought either gingham hoodie.

IME, JCP has a hard time with premium sportswear. They don't seem to be able to attract the right customers. The dress was easier.

Yes and part of the challenge was designing for JC Penny, and I thought margerita nailed that without making something generic!
But I also would wear the hoodies, they were great.

Brandon/Kitaro designed a really cool looking mix & match group of items- I thought the two of them together had the best combination of looks, but JCP was probably looking for a single dress to sell and not a capsule collection.

I'd wear those hoodies too.

I'd love to see Brandon & Kitaro team up after the show and create a line together.

Also, I'm irritated about the stupid sister vs. sister challenge now. The judges basically said this should have been the twins' challenge to win since they could actually collaborate together. Yet, they still failed! So why not just cut both of them?! Maybe with just one it will be manageable unless she cries the whole time about how she misses her sister.

I can't imagine Tim Gunn using his save on either one of them.

The episode seems like it was written to get this result. Each designer assigned fabric. Button bag comes out but they still get to pick their partner. Your partner can’t have the same fabric. Oh look, the twins have different fabric. And would anyone else have wanted to pair with either one of them?

I also don’t think Tim will save one, but it’s odd they included the mention of the save. I agree with those saying auf both of them.

I thought it was a bad decision on Claire's part to choose Shawn. She knew it was a team challenge so that in the case their team was the losing team, one of them would be auf'd. She also knew that they had both been in the bottom more than once. So was it thoughtless or hubris that she thought the two of them wouldn't be the bottom team? If they were on separate teams, they would have had a better chance of both sticking around.

I think they're all about their brand and don't expect to win, so the more :drama: featuring them the better.

I'm worried about Kenya. She's talented but so unpredictable, from the top to the bottom and back again. But I figure once the twins are gone, the next auf is Amy. She's not won anything nor even been in the top three.

I hope there won't be a Tim Gunn save for either twin. Shawn (bald one????) does not have any talent and cannot do anything without her sister's help. The twins are sooooo annoying.
INDEED

Not sure what to make of this episode... I thought Brandon or Ayana should have been in the top over Kenya. Kentaro was ok, but i agreed with Heidi saying the client was drowning in fabric.

I'm not sure what to think about the Claire drama. Her shirt didn't even end up looking like Margarita's dress. I do think it looked similar to things that she or Shawn had already made, but she's certainly not the first designer to make similar looks. I do think the twins have knocked off ideas from their own clothes, but I'm not sure if the final outfit was worth all the hand-wringing or enough to cause Michael to walk off the runway. I guess it was between him and Batani to go home so maybe easier for him to just go. However, i could see Tim Gunn using the save for either of them. Of course we have to wait another week again to see what happens!

I forgot about the bit about Margarita and Michael talking about Claire having a measuring tape in her room. Is she actually breaking the rules, and not just a boring designer??

Something about the drama feels manufactured though.

There has (obviously) been even more happening "behind the scenes" than we know.
Whatever it is, I hope it leads to Clare's departure.

Project Runway has clearly become a scripted show. I'm about done with it. Claire is clearly written as the heel (professional wrestling terminology) to instigate drama on the show. There's no way this situation is real. For one thing, any unscripted person would be jumping up and down with glee upon learning they won that challenge and its associated 25K. (That's the largest cash prize for an individual challenge that I can remember on this show.) For another, Kentaro clearly won this challenge. But giving it to him wouldn't be as dramatic.

I miss the days when the fashion and talent were front and center on this show, and not personality issues and drama.

I FF a lot of it. I only really watch Tim saying what the challenge is, at Mood, Tim's critiques and the runway show. I watch some of the workroom scenes (sketching and some construction, depending).

I do think Margarita psyched herself out obsessing over the twin. Her top was really cute and didn't look anything like Margarita's dress after Tim mentioned that he'd seen it somewhere. It's a good thing Margarita has immunity.

That drama with the other twin not knowing how to design by herself was a big duh. Glad one's gone.

There is a clip from the opening episode preview of the season where Tim is backstage and says something to the extent of "That is clearly cheating". Maybe it was edited it to that after he said something like 'If the accusations are true then...' I think that's probably the likely situation. And then there will just be a lot of tension for the next few weeks after he tells everyone that Claire really didn't break any rules.
