Practice reports Euros

Rizzo 3a
Lindfors 3f2t
Rizzo 3z/3s
Rizzo almost bumping into Egadze and a 3s
I would love to report they are doing something interesting, but between them drinking water, cleaning their noses and Egadze almost falling face down from a 2s there is nothing to report...

Vibes from final women's practice group. I was just thinking in Mikutina's run-through that she was looking comfortable and landing things and then she fell. But everything else looked good. Both British women seemed to be embracing the home ice - Kristen in particular looked strong and focused although her boots were barely held together with duct tape. In contrast, Nina appears to be skating on brand new boots, very shiny white. I have such a soft spot for Kurakova but she seems to have lost some of her joie de vivre, mostly just looked worried. Though a touch of her personality did come through with her final bows so maybe she was just in the zone. The other Polish skater was... also there. Thus concludes the women for today. Dance coming up in the main arena.

Fun Finns predictably fun. But also Juho in particular seemed genuinely appreciative of the efforts of all the teams on the ice, often leading the applause for well performed elements. Lovely to have Turkkila/Versluis back in competition, just beautiful lines. The Belgian couple are very striking, I could tell as soon as they came out they were going to do the rhythm dance as her whole look just screams 90s.

Lilah and Lewis are in the building - it's about to get loud!

They are testing something on the screens on the main arena now and have Gilles/Poirier all over the screen :)

Freak fall from Phebe in their run-through, he came within a whisker of running over her hand :yikes:Hopefully they got it out of their system anyway. Lilah and Lewis did their FD and are going to raise the roof with it on Saturday night. I know they won't win but it will be their moment regardless.

No Mrazeks this evening. I enjoyed the Taschlers, not remotely tiffed in plain black practice gear but she has a presence which draws you in.

They just painstakingly announced 5 teams for the next group when it was blatantly obvious that only one couple are actually on the ice. No show from both Italian teams, the couple from Cyprus and Soucisse/Firus. A long solo practice session for Verhaegh/Van Geffen (NED) - this might be my cue to grab something to eat!

During Demogeout/Le Mercier's music the speakers went off, so they got some clapping instead.
Laurence/Cizeron's (I learned how to spell her first name, think it's the most I can do) programme looks so much better than what it was in Angers. It is faster, it is more flowing. Can't say that I like it, no, but well...
I love Lopareva/Brissaud's programme. They are so different from the others, their music is not annoying and their style suits it 100%

I think Fusar Poli is here!I need to see whether she has a timer to make sure it's her (she is wearing a hat and standing with her back to me most o f the time. I think hse is with the Poles?

Think I will miss the rest of the practices, trusting the amazing ladies who started the thread to keep us updated.

My quick-ish takes from evening dance practice:

Matthew Sperry has something of the Vitali “Truck Driver” Novikov about him.

Turkkila/Versluis really excellent in FD runthrough, then worked on RD elements in full tango get up.

Yuka Orihara kept looking into the audience with a really concerned expression. I turned around but everything looked fine. They messed up that element in the choreo step (you know the one) during their runthrough - can you fall when you’re already lying down? - but redid it fine.

Straubs looked better in the RD than the FD (I guess they’re training it more). He is very tall.

Mrazeks both no shows this time.

Taschlers’ Matrix is another programme I don’t like as much as I thought I would, but I do love their power. Nice to see them looking happy and relaxed on practice ice (they were chatting and laughing with B/H on the morning session).

As others have said, Bekker/Hernandez had an awkward fall at the start of their choreo step and she scraped up her elbow. Hopefully just painful rather than injury, they continued with the practice and it didn’t seem to bother her too much - other than the fall they looked better than the morning session.

Fear/Gibson had arrived and looked as they always do; they’re very consistent. No major tweaks to the FD since GPF.

Zehnder/Sieber are fun but scrappy.

Another solo practice session for Verhaegh/van Geffen.

Val/Kazimov had arrived and looked good but not 193 total points good. A shame their programmes are so generic.

Smart/Dieck seemed faster than this morning but their FD is definitely the better programme. Twizzles still a bit off.

Samantha Ritter’s RD costume is very Pasha 1998 (so of course I love it).

Davis/Smolkin have new RD costumes. Similar style to the previous ones but more like leggings styled to look like a micro mini and stockings for her than the previous baggy trousers. They’re skating well.

Kazakova/Kasinskij no show.

Janse van Rensburg / Steffan no show after leaving the lunchtime practice early, and I’ve just checked the entry list and they’ve been replaced by Matthaei/Liebers.

Larson/Kapran did their RD again; I guess they think they’re on the bubble for making the FD.

Lopareva/Brissaud fast and clean. Their RD is growing on me. Costumes are very sparkly.

Demougeot/Le Mercier were fine but performance a little flat compared to some teams around them.

Reitan/Majorov still looking good and speedy. Expecting them to finish higher than last year.

Ignateva/Szemko also did their RD again but alas he was in a long sleeve T this time. Based on skills they should be a safe bet for the FD but the way things have been going who knows.

Music problems during Dovhal/Kulesza’s runthrough. They still seem to be overreaching themselves and making everything messier than it needs to be.

Ichilov/NosoSib skating decently but also generic.

Reed/Ambrulevicius still skating well but other teams have now caught up with them since the early season.

Different announcer for this practice block making a hash of everyone’s name. Sort it out before Friday!

Greetings from the practice rink.
The Swiss are stamping the throw jumps.
Holichenko is alone, Darenski is not here, guess his skates are not here yet, but they still havent' withdrown, so either he is somewhere else trying someone esle's skates or retrieveing his own and will have a 6 mins warm up to skate.
