Practice reports Euros

Kovalevs walked through their programme with no jumps etc. There are lots of little kids on the other side of the rink and they are clapping crazily on every split twist. Kinda cute. But loud

Kholichenko is struggling with a tripple jump, the SUI are trying the lift, sometimes it works, sometimes does not , the Kovalevs are not even attempting to jump or throw or split twist (assume if they are not injured they don't need to, they are consistent enough, if they are injured duuhhh..)

Tsiba is struggling with a 3s.
NED and GER have exactly the same costumes - a guy in black and a lady in a black sparkling catsuit. Vapian-Law has the prettiest costume, can't believe am saying that after Zoe Jones, but the UK has pretty costumes (McKay starting it and Vapian Law continuing - it's somehow in the same key and very pretty)
Schetinina df the throw jump. Have to admit I liked the Hungarian Schetinina and the SUI Schetinina better than the Polish by now.
Vapian-Law and Digby ran through with no elements. Germans - gorgeous throw jump.
Tsiba looks a bit out of shape - he is struggling with the jumps

Arrived at the main arena in time for warm up group 4 of the women's practice.

Nataly Langerbaur (EST) landed all her jumping passes in run through and looked solid throughout the practice.

In contrast, Julia Lovrencic (SLO) landed her first jump forward and didn't attempt any others in her run through, and seemed to be struggling throughout . She has a random unnecessary hood on her costume which comes down after her opening pose and is never used again.

Nina Povey (GBR) looked comfortable, she was landing everything and has some nice movements, albeit a little slow.

Mia Risa Gomez (NOR) is a rising star, she moves well and has a real presence on the ice and was warmly appreciated by the small crowd here.

Kristen Spours (GBR) fell on her first jumping pass in the run through and marked most of the rest of the programme. She did successfully land things through the rest of the practice though and hopefully will be able to channel her frustration into fierce fighting energy for the competition, she'll certainly have the crowd support behind her.

awww, I have a knitting lady behind me.
Metelkina almost bumped into Ghilardi, Ambrossini saved them both (by screaming).
Volodin has yet another very complicated construction on his head. He could just go all the way O'Shea instead...
The announcer on the main rink was using the private names for `please be ready', here it's the cold `Ghilardi and Ambrosini please be ready'
Metelkina/Berulava look like they mean it. Pavlova/Sviatchenko realize the medal is theirs if they don't screw up. The italians are cute , but...
Have to admit I like Pavlova here the most. She is a perfect pair partner. And I love their programme this year. The run trough elements - all 100%.
Metelkina/Berulava - the music began before she stood on her head:) They are the only ones who start with a sbs jump and not a split twist (though may be the Italians as well? they didn't do the sbs jump and they skipped an element). The throw, the sbs jump all is great. They are by far the fastest team on the ice. I just don't like them much :(
Italians thow - he is mainly throwing her up than forward, but seems to work for them.

Group 5 Women

Josefin Taljegaard (SWE). Just love her, her strength and personality are everything. Who needs jumps right?

Livia Kaiser (SUI). Jumps very hit and miss today, but more miss sadly. However everything else was beautiful, notably her speed and effortless glide.

Alexandra Feigin (BUL). Getting everything done but without much conviction.

Sarina Joos (ITA). I feel like she has a lot of personality but it's not showing yet in her skating, competently through her elements though.

Ogla Mikutina (AUS). Absolutely on it today, the class of the group.

Mariia Senuk (ISR). Didn't seem quite so hell bent on taking out her fellow skaters today. Technically very competent.

I would disqualify Pezzetta for her music. This screeching after the rest of the ladies' music in this group reminds me why I hate those powerful female musical things... Assume it's female, actually not sure. But annoying.

Group 5 Womens

Julia Sauter (ROM). I know she skated but don't particularly remember it. Which says a lot.

Lea Serna (FRA). Just seems a bit scrappy and unfinished.

Loena Hendrickx (BEL). Belongs nowhere near this group. Landed all her jumps in run through and so much ice coverage in her steps that the rest of the group collectively decided it wasn't worth trying to dodge her and stuck to the edge!

Iida Karhunen (FIN). She's teeny tiny and doesn't get much ice coverage as a consequence but still pleasant to watch, landing stuff

Ekaterina Kurakova (POL). Seemed happier today and got the biggest cheer from the crowd, jumps all landed in run-through.

Anna Pezzetta (ITA). Had a hard fall earlier in the practice and bailed on the jump in the same spot during run through. Otherwise ok but not standing out amongst others in the group.

That said she is a very decent skater. The gliding is one of the best in this group (that is to say Hendrixks is better and well, Kurakova and the little Finn are not).

Pinzarone is mesmerizing. The gliding, the lines, the music, the costume - if she lands her jumps she is my personal champion (believe if Hendrixks is not injured she shouldn't have a hard time winning)
Petrykina lokked better in the training cloths yesterday, but I do like the programme. Gutmann- great programme, lovely skaitng, she is the most fun to watch. Gubanova is slow even compared to herself a year ago

My quick-ish takes from evening dance practice:

Matthew Sperry has something of the Vitali “Truck Driver” Novikov about him.
...
That one stopped me. Novikov was HOT... literally! I stood next to him at a bar once, and it was like standing next to a wood stove. Stand next to Sperry if you get a chance or if you get chilly 🤣
