The only reason they would leave would be if Romain H were to take a leading coaching job somewhere else. My guess is that Romain is doing another olympic cycle in Montreal. Strangers things have happened like the Igor/Marina breakup. I am hoping that Romain will have his "own" school in the NYC, California or Paris area. Some day! I don't see him back to Lyon. The other reason would be Didier of course. Didier does not have as much bargaining power anymore$$$. But he will cut the funding if he wants them far away from their competitors.

Candeloro and his wife choreographed the group numbers. Maybe some people mistook this with choreographing all the numbers. I agree that P/C choreographed by Candeloro or the Candeloros would seem, well... strange, to avoid derogative terms

I would like to see Karine Arribert doing choreo for one of P/C exhibitions. Just out of sheer curiosity to see if this can actually work.

I do not think anyone in France can really rely on proper support while Didier is still involved. Schoenfelder was an amazing male dancer and is now coaching as well. The coaching talent is there..the skating talent is there... it is the management that sucks.Hopefully that will change in the near future so kids do not have to leave home. In the meantime we love having G&G in Mtl.

They were concerned because the strap on the dress was more flimsy then the other one and they sewed it before each practice where it held up no problem and before the official sd and they were horrified when it let go. I think it’s unfair to blame Gabby. It was a good interview MF encouraged her that she could still win gold.

I doubt they will leave Montreal. V/M will not return. They also love Montreal.

I've heard that DG was asked for more money from Gadbois. At the same time, he didn't get the result he wanted from them (Olympic gold medal). Also, Gadbois didn't apologize/take responsibility for the wardrobe problem. It seems like someone is taken for a fool. But not only him. P/C too.

Yeah MFD was saying they were reinforcing/sewing it at each practice and for the SD.

Also, you have to look at what other teams were at the comps. Autumn Classic, well that's in Montreal. No surprise she was there. Skate Canada had four Gadbois teams (V/M, H/D, S/D, S/F). At Cup of China, P/C were the only Gadbois team, so it made sense that only one coach would go with them. Not surprising that Romain did. The same was true for IdF. At Canadian Nationals, there was V/M, S/F, Lajoie/Lagha and Fisher/Mallet-Paquette. Again, four teams.

Hi everyone. MFD explained this in her recent interview with TSL. That the accompaniment of their top 3 teams was strictly based on who had the accreditation - Patch has one for US and so was with H/D, Romain had one for France and MFD had the Canadian one. She explained it was easier for everyone to just keep that routine. It seems a viable explanation.

Agreed. There is no rational, logical reason for this line of thinking, without Gabriella, Guillaume's star would not shine as brightly and vice-versa. It's easy to envision some ice dancers ice dancing with other people, but not these two, they are perfect for each other, imho. Perfect! Love them together!

You're right, I should not post negative things over here, sorry. I do however genuinely wonder how would P/C fare outside of Gadbois. Maybe we'll never know.

In any case, posting here is a way for me to waste time - whether I post something negative or positive. Do not worry about my free time - when I do not want to work, I do not want to work, I do anything instead . There are crazier things to do than posting on fs forum, all things considered.

That doesn't mean that it was the ideal coaching situation and they should stay or have stayed in Gadbois. When you are competing against V/M, with the full power of B2Ten and their fame, in their home country, what is better ? To train with them or train elsewhere, with coaches that are not fair but 100% behind you ?

Hagenauer and their theatre teacher, as well as their mind coach maybe played that role.

I'm seriously asking that question, both have pros and cons. I believe P/C said in interviews that the pros vastly outbalance the cons before, but I do not know if they still share that opinion. In the interview that was posted here a few days ago they seem to have had terrible two years competing against V/M, I wasn't expecting such an unsure tone (the one where Guillaume asks himself if they should have done the 2017 fd program).

And when asked about the situation, MFD and PL seemed like they were near a stress breakdown, so I wasn't ideal for them as well.

If V/M are not retiring I think they should leave Gadbois to its 4-Olympics dancer-coaches Canadian love story and train elsewhere. But of course that'll be a risky move as well.

Coaches were obviously perfectly aware of these problems and it was their job and their responsibility to take any appropriate action and make sure/control these actions are performed as needed to prevent from such issue to show up again, especially at Olys! It's for sure part of their SOW (scope of work)!

It sounds right about coaches - they should know, they should control, etc. And what about sprortsmens? They didn't know about dress problems? They didn't need to control?

Just try to clarify because when I read you sometimes it seems that only coaches are responsible for this problem and athlets don't need to think what do they wear. Sorry for reminding, but not coaches are persones who lose... P/C are. So maybe they need it [be responsible, pay more attention to dress, check who sews it] more?..
