I also loved the sequence where Peppermint Patty hires Snoopy to be her coach, when she enters a local skating competition. The punchline was just as hysterical, too.

Patty's story was eventually developed into the TV special, She's a Good Skate, Charlie Brown.

OK, I lost it at Woodstock resurfacing the ice with a wet tea bag.

They could have used a wet tea bag at our rink. The Zamboni was always on the fritz.

Speaking of strange ways to resurface the ice - anyone remember the weird contraption they had to resurface the '32 rink it Lake Placid back in the days of figures? It was like a 55 gallon drum on a pulley with a wet rag hanging off the back.

A bit of trivia - Charles Schultz played in a hockey league pretty much until his final days. And his daughter figure skated, which is how the Santa Rosa rink came to be.

My favourite variations on ice resurfacing were the mini racing buggies that were used at the 2014 World Championships in Saitama.
