G&G's skating is one of the main reasons I became a figure skating fan.

Can't believe it's 22 years today. Life was so different then! Still remember people trading VHS tapes of their programs. Now I can't even find a VHS player....

ETA: And I'm like Sylvia: G&G are the reason I became a true skating fan.

I remember attending the 1996 World Junior Championships in Brisbane and how they observed a minute's silence for Grinkov prior to the pairs' short program.

Sometimes, it still feels like yesterday.

I can still remember reading the news about it. I was pretty devastated. I adored them back in the day. And I remember watching the tribute show and being in awe of Katia's solo skate. It was heartbreaking. But time heals though you never forget.

I was devastated too, to the point where my then boyfriend groused that he was tired of my talking about Sergei Grinkov's death. I sent Katia a diary from Waldenbooks, where I was working part time then. It's wonderful that Katia found love again and is still skating and performing.

Such a great pair and wonderful people! I too was devastated, I couldn't believe it. Even in Norway, news reported it, so before internet I was informed the day after through the main newspaper. If you scroll down Katia's Instagram, you'll see Daria is the spitting image of Sergei.

I remember watching the tribute. It was very emotional and then Daria was brought out onto the ice and that did me even further.
