News and updates à la Française, part trois

Has Meite had injuries? She seems a lot slower than she was in 2014.
In the Olympic Channel clip she mentioned overcoming a knee injury, I think it was circa 2015.

And this is what wikipedia says: "Although troubled by her right knee from mid-November 2014, she finished sixth at the 2015 European Championships in Stockholm and tenth at the 2015 World Championships in Shanghai. In April 2015, she decided to begin treatment for her knee. She did not jump for three months."

Lorenza Alessandrini has decided to retire. She will work as a coach. The source is her Instagram.

Ah no, such a shame :(

Here are her farewell and thank you messages:

I always had a soft spot for Lorenza/Pukey. Even if their career has not turned into the way it could have, they always were amongst the best dressed and had that stunning stationary lift (@Hanna might agree).

All the best Lorenza! Hopefully Pukey finds another great partner for him.:drama:

I'm surprised, they've not had the transitions to seniors that they would have wanted, and I thought a coaching change could have been on the cards, but on the other hand they've mostly been close behind Les Gacs and looked to have decent prospects for next season.
Oh damn. :(

I don't know their situation and circumstances, but I can't help but think about what happened in Euros. First they were nipping at L/LG's heels in the SD, had the higher PCS, and probably hoped to surpass their compatriots in the free, but then they went on to lose that lift and dropped in the standings... Must have been a big disappointment for them.

One year time from now to learn some decent jumps, when Ciprès needs a new partner to continue with a new partner next season :D

If Bruno really quits, I kinda hope Aljona just replaces him with another hunky Frenchman.
Bruno can give him pointers on the dos-and-donts about how to pass that damn citizenship test. :kickass:
#Savchenko/Ciprès for #Beijing2022

Oh my... What a shame... I'm calling Abachkina/Souquet for next season !

As much as I like Pukey, I guess Abachkina wants to upgrade :shuffle:

Well, at least he would be an upgrade in hotness :saint: More seriously, I can't see any available male partner in the french team worthy of her at the moment :glamor: (and I need her to stay in team France :drama:)

Didier tried to partner her with Corentin Rahier, but he would have none of that! She has been around huge talents like Rahier or Ponomarenko and is probably hoping for that type of talent level.

What did he say? I'm at work and can't watch but the look on the faces of the other two is like omg...

It's not the what, it's more the how.

"Dear Abachkina, (if/do?) you hear me, you lost. You will never get me, you never" (the background is very loud)

There is a strong emotion, I don't know the background. Having said his piece to Abachkina, he changes completely and "Kisses for everybody" (Bisou à tout l'monde)
