But I missed Mr Meowgi doing his zen thing on the sakura pillow some time in the night. Oh well, I'm sure he'll be back.
 
Chip has visited me 3 times, but I still haven't been able to see his face since his back has been to me, or he was curled up in a dish. :P Still haven't seen the other 2 yet...
 
I haven't gotten a single new cat yet despite having bonito out and having new toys. Have other iPhone users had issues?

Same here -- I got a picture of him on the new penguin pillow but it just swallowed him up!

The new dinosaur scratcher is fun, especially when there are two cats doing synchronized scratching. I don't think it will hold more than 2 cats though so not the best toy if you're trying to maximize your count.
 
Pasty seems to love the glass vase - I've found her there 3 times so far.

No Chip yet, anything besides the penguin pillow?
 
Chip has been to my giant cushion several times -- and in fact he's there now and I was actually able to see his face this time. :)

I know there was an issue with the iPhone update when it first came out (no cats visiting, food not depleted) and a new update was released. I from what I've seen on Reddit, the corrected version is 1.71.

RE: Pasty & Chip:

For me, Pasty has used the blue bucket, fruit basket, sunken fireplace and the white shell tunnel. Chip has used the aluminium bowl (a lot!), giant cushion, manta gel mat (also popular) and the penguin cushion.

With both ears and the top of his head black, to me Chip looks like he's wearing a matador hat. :)
 
I finally got Peaches memento today. Other than the new three, I still need six others Lady Meow-Meow, Sassy Fran, Frosty, Rascal, Sapphire & Jeeves (the latter two have only visited me once - they definitely seem to be the rarest of the rare).
I have gotten Chip three times so far - twice on the new manta gel mat and once on the marble pad. Benjal Jack visited when I had tuna out and the deluxe treasure chest, though I missed getting a picture. Have not had Pasty yet.
 
Pasty came to me for the Lucky pillow. And Chip will also use the manta gel pad and the aluminum bowl.

Beyond those already mentioned, I've also had visits from both Chip and Pasty with the glass vase. Pasty likes the cake box. Chip uses the giant cool cushion.

I've only used frisky bits and ritzy bits and have had visits from all three new cats.
 
Does Jack come to the regular treasure chest too, or just the red/luxury one? I've only bought the red one so far.

Me too. "Pasty" makes me think of strippers & tassels -- and the costumes of certain figure skaters .... :D

Meanwhile I moved the treasure chest to the wooden footbridge so that there's be a nice background for a photo there, and Jack obliged me by almost immediately showing up. (I think though that they should have made the chest full of gold -- or, I dunno, fish -- when Jack is there.)

Mission accomplished. :) Mr Meowgi spent a couple of hours last night in zen contemplation on the sakura pillow, more than enough time for me to get his picture.

Now I'm wondering about what other "alternate" poses/toys there are for the rares. I have a few others -- notably Guy Furry on both the stove and the vase, Chairman Meow on both the bowl and the fireplace, and Frosty with & without coat. I never bothered with the twisty rail to get Conductor Whiskers' alternate, but maybe that will be my next goal.

But Tubbs on the giant cushion is still my white whale ...

Other rares with more than one goodie: Xerxes IX, Saint Purrtrick, Kathmandu and Sapphire/Jeeves. I haven't seen any comments about a second item for Bengal Jack.

Both Chip and Pasty have not been stingy in giving out their mementos. I received it from Chip yesterday and from Pasty today. :cheer: Meanwhile, Peaches continues to remain elusive.

Spoiler Alert: There's a small oops in the update. If you have mementos from Sapphire and Jeeves the description is now for the Pasty and Chip mementos.
 
Both Pasty and Jack brought me their mementos yesterday -- Jack after 5 visits, and Pasty after 19.

I kinda wish it had taken longer ...
 
It is so annoying when that happens isn't it?
I had a rare that has visited me 4 times - and I have missed them every time!

I FINALLY got Rascal's memento. Still have about a half-dozen mementos to go
 
Me me, I am! Though I will admit I'm not checking nearly as frequently as I used to.

My last holdout is Chip, no memento from him despite 55 visits.

And I'm still trying to get Tubbs on the giant cushion (he's done it a couple of times but I didn't catch him in the act). So my toy/food layout is very specific and won't change until I get him.
 
My toy layout is (and has been for a while) pretty specific too. I move them around the different spots in the yard, and I have one or two cushions I change out, but it is pretty stable otherwise. I still need Jeeves & Sapphire, so my large ones stay the same. I also still need Bengal Jack, so the treasure chest; Lady Meow-Meow, so the luxury hammock; Frosty (so lots of cushions), and Peaches.
 
Chip brought me his memento last night (he must have heard me!). So now it's just Tubbs on the giant pillow I'm aiming for.

I've also had the twisty rail out for a while and am amusing myself watching the kitties play with that. And trying to time the picture of them exactly right so it gets their paws inside the toy (not easy!).
 
Must be something about posting that you need the memento and it appears. I got Bengal Jack this morning.
 
For those who are getting a little bored with Neko Atsume and/or impatient waiting for another update, here's something new from Chrome: an extension called Tabby Cat. It gives you a kitty every time you open a new tab. And the kitties come with goodies too, like hats you can put on them. I haven't explored all the ins and outs yet, just installed it a few minutes ago, but had to share.
