I've been kind of slacking lately, I was running out of fish too quickly trying to use the expensive food to get mementos faster so I've just been feeding my cats frisky bits and earning fish. Today, after not getting Frosty for almost 2 weeks, I got his memento . So now I just have Sassy Fran to get. I have over 1000 gold fish now so I'm just going to stock up on the expensive food and go for it. She hasn't visited me since April 30 so I don't think Frisky Bits are going to work this time.

I've had Sassy Fran come to her café with Ritzy, Bonito, Sashimi, and even Frisky bits.

But I haven't had any mementos for days, and I'm getting impatient with the holdouts. Bill is up to 20 visits, Sassy Fran 19, Chairman 34, and Joe is 36, and no mementos from any of them!

I got Billy the Kitten's memento today. The one rare that I've had one or more items out for for weeks now is Frosty - who has deigned to visit only twice.
Lady Meow-Meow is very particular also - I've had the hammock out in all different places for weeks and only a couple of visits as well.

I've seen stuff online that said she'll do either sashimi or deluxe tuna bits. I have deluxe tuna out now and she's been at least once today already.

Sapphire just gave me her memento on only her 4th visit. Today I started the mean strategy of kicking regular cats off of her goodies. And I had out tuna. She came after the second kick-off.

I'd read somewhere that cats with weaker power levels can't kick off stronger cats, so if we want to see them we should help them out.

I just kicked off seven cats, and 5 minutes later Chairman Meow showed up - not in one of the newly emptied spots, but in a place only he hangs out. I guess he approves of mean.

It feels like cheating, but it seems like it is almost the only way I can get Frosty, Jeeves, and Sapphire to show up more than once a fortnight.

I got the memento for Mr Meowyagi very quickly in my backup game on the iPad. Only 4 visits! Except I don't check the game that often and I still don't have a picture of him despite getting the memento.

Otherwise I'm still waiting to get the memento from a handful of rare cats in my main game.

Well, his personality is listed as "boorish" so ...

Not sure I have the heart to be so mean. I always had to apologize multiple times to my real-life kitty when I kicked her off my lap so I could go pee.

I am really not enjoying kicking the cats off. But it does seem to result in more cats visiting.

Good luck getting Tubbs on the cushion Artemis@BC and rjblue! I hope you'll open up the game one day and find him taking a nap. That's what happened to me and I was completely shocked because I hadn't been trying to nab him.

After a week of coaxing, I finally got a picture of Frosty inside without the straw coat.

My next goal is to see how many cats I can have visit at one time. I have out the cat metropolis, bureau, giant cushion, all the cubes and the stump house. Theoretically it's possible to have 23 visitors. I haven't come anywhere near that yet.

My record is 15 -- and that was with a toy combo that would have allowed for 19.

I've had 12 many times, and 13 or 14 a few times.

13 or 14 is the max I've had at one time. I forgot to add Tubbs at the food bowl to the total so the max possible is 24.

Spoon-Pets, another game from the same creator (with hamsters instead of cats) was updated a few days ago. I'm hoping that means there will be an update to Neku Atsume soon.

Yeah, but as soon as Tubbs shows up at the food bowl most of the other cats take off, so that's never going to happen.

This is the most attention I've given any video game since I started playing Skyrim the first time and blew through Bioshock Infinite. I hope they update soon. I'm going to keep putting food out and whatnot. But I'll switch back to frisky bits so I can earn more fish without having to spend a lot.

I've been setting different goals in order to keep it interesting until there's a new update (e.g. getting pictures of the rares on all their items, seeing how many cats I can have in the yard at one time, buying all the decors and goodies).

Just got Chairman Meow's memento, after 42 visits. That's the most it's taken for any rare other than Tubbs.

So I can put away the earthenware pot and put the pyramid back out for Ramses. I haven't had it out for ages since it's not my favourite, and neither is he -- sorry for fans of that particular aesthetic but I find him very unappealing.

But no sign of Jeeves and Sapphire (I keep wanting to type Jeeves and Wooster) for ages and ages ...

Still trying to get all the mementos - I need Peaches and Rascal's plus 7 rares... Mr Meowgi is due for me as he is at over 40 visits for me now. Guy has over 30 visits with no memento. Feels like we are overdue for an update!

I still have 7 rares to go. I gave up on the kicking off cats strategy - it required too much attention. I'm just going to be patient.

I have all the remodels now except the modern one. I just bought the rustic one, but none of the stuff the rares come to looks good with it.

I might do a remodel just for the heck of it, since I have over 1500 gold fishies banked up and am starting to feel like a hoarder. If I do remodel it would be the modern, that's the only one that appeals to me in the slightest. But I do so love my zen!

My goodness! I'm nowhere near that. I've still lots of stuff to buy, 2 rares who haven't visited, and several rares whose mementos I need. I'm afraid I'm the opposite of you - I'm hoping it will be a while before there is another upgrade.

All the "experts" (and there are experts in this field!) say that the remodels are purely aesthetic and have zero effect on cat visits or fish gifts. However it would be impossible to actually analyse that, since the game varies widely from one person to the next.

We had this discussion before when Sapphire and Jeeves were first introduced. I tried to entice them to visit for several weeks in the zen garden (after buying their special goodies and setting out their favorite food). No go. I switched to the sugary style and within hours they had visited and, less than 9 visits later, I had received their mementos. I have all the remodels now and they still have only visited the sugary style.

I also came across these comments from a few people in the wikia page who noticed the yard style made a difference in attracting certain cats to visit them.

Its different for each player but sometimes the theme effects the cats, for example i couldnt get chairman meow for the rustic theme but my sister could.

It's weird that I had the same Chairman Meow issue as the other poster. I had both of his items up in Rustic for two months and he never came. I switched back to the original and he came within ten minutes. I then switched back, same issue. Who knows how these things work, but if you're having trouble getting certain cats certain places, it doesn't hurt to switch it up.

Theoretically, the remodels shouldn't make a difference, but if you can't get a cat to visit, there's no harm in switching things up. It worked for me.

On a different subject, Mister Dragonfly has become my favorite active goodie. I just love watching the cats jump up to play with it.
