Oh, how frustrating! At least silver fish are easy to come by. I've got nearly 5000 right now and have taken to buying new toys I don't even want or need, just to use them up. And of course to see how the kitties like them. I bought & put out one of the macaroon cushions last night, for example -- I was curious to see if it would hold a 2nd kitty on top, but it didn't.

I haven't done a fish exchange yet, maybe I'll do that so I can justify buying more expensive food.

OMG just listen to us all, this is completely ridiculous!
 
I just did an exchange and I was extra careful to make certain I was going in the right direction.

I'm waffling now- whether to go for a remodel; they look so nice, or buy specific items to attract rare cats.

I'm thinking about not researching, just trying new thing and see who comes. Senor del gato came in the night, and I accepted his fish without making note of what he came to.

I put out sashimi and the cats stayed away. I thought an expensive food would fill the place up, but only one cat at a time came to visit while it was out.
 
Yay, I got my memento from Senor Don Gato! And what a lovely memento it is too!

The best combo that seems to work for me for maximum number of cats is Frisky Bits in one bowl and Ritzy Bits in another. The only cat that seems to be fond of the sashimi is Lady Meow-Meow, but she's come for Ritzy Bits as well.

I wouldn't mind so much paying gold for the Ritzy Bits -- or even the fancier stuff -- if it lasted more than 3 hours!

I wish that worked so well for me. I get more cats at a time with Sashimi than I do with anything else and I can only get Kathmandu with Sashimi out. I haven't had Sashimi out in a few days and once again, no sign of Kathmandu.

That's what I call it to myself. :shuffle: Obviously (even if just going by my profile photo), I'm a cat person.

I was going to spend money on the expansion and then decided not to, for various reasons. I now have 176 gold fish. Argh. :drama:

Also, Fred is up to 45 visits and still no memento. Fecking cats! :lol:
 
Princess has been to my yard 59 times with no memento. But some of the rare cats are more forthcoming: I got a memento from Senor Don Gato after only 6 visits, and from Xerses after only 4.
 
I was slightly sad when Xerxes IX gave me his memento because the Zanzibar Cushion was raking in the gold fish! I should probably just leave it out for fun.

The twisty rail turned out to be one of my favourite "large" items, but is it a one-cat only toy?

I thought all the large toys were for at least 2 cats, but I haven't tried the twisty rail yet.

I'll be glad when Bob finally leaves his memento so that I can get rid of the metropolis. Not only is it too big, Bob is very stingy with his fishy gifts.

I haven't decided yet though if keeping toys in place for a long period of time is the best strategy for multiple visits (and therefore mementos), or if it's better to keep changing them around. I do change the smaller toys frequently.

I'm only missing Rascal in one of my games; Rascal and Lexy in the other. I know that Peaches is supposedly the hardest regular cat to get but she came fairly quickly and I managed to photograph her on her first visit for both my games.

Still waiting to get all the gold fish so I can expand :drama:
 
Gozo was the last regular cat I needed (not counting Peaches), and I got a picture of him an hour ago.

I was saving to buy a remodel but then I caved and bought the train - it looks so cute with 4 cats in it.
 
I did manage to photograph Peaches the first (and so far only) time I saw her- she actually stayed awhile but I was ever so excited to see her when I checked my phone when I got to my mom's this afternoon. :lol:

I found a Google survey app that asks really quick surveys and gives Google Play credits; after a week or so of using the app, I had enough to pay for a remodel and the train. I don't think I've seen 4 cats in the train at once yet, though.

Meanwhile, Fred is up to 57 visits with no memento. Hmph. :P

I've never seen more than one cat on it, and some googling seems to confirm that only one cat does fit on it. Very weird! So it's cute, but the cardboard train is a much more efficient choice for attracting Conductor Whiskers.

I'm also undecided about changing toys frequently or not. I've been doing frequent changes but haven't received any mementos in the last few days.

However, today I saw Peaches on the cat metropolis, so that was nice! It's my least favourite toy, so I'm also longing for Bob's memento.

I did see 4 cats on the train, but only once. I've had 5 on the bureau with pots many times.

And although I still don't like the metropolis, I was rewarded earlier today by seeing Callie on the top shelf today in face-plant pose. First time I'd seen that on any toy.

It's called Google Opinion Rewards; all the surveys they've given me have been super quick- usually 3-4 multiple choice questions. A few annoyingly don't give any credits but that may be when my first answer disqualifies me or something. Still, it was a great option for me since I don't want to spend actual money on apps.

And of course, as soon as I posted before, I achieved 4 cats on the train. :lol:
 
Oh, Fred. I have like 35 visits and no memento. Still, he's generous with the silver fish so he can keep dropping by as much as he wants.

Lexy showed up on my ipad game, so I'm only missing Rascal on both!
 
Signs you're addicted, #18: you get home after being out for several hours, and you really really need to pee .... but first you detour to pick up your tablet so you can check on the kitties asap.

It's probably a good thing that my Windows phone doesn't support the game ...
 
I got my yard expansion yesterday. I had received 4 or 5 mementos before the expansion, but have already received 3 in the 24 hours since. So I guess the expanded yard really helps.

Well it does take less time to feed the kitties in the game:D.

I've been slacking on the game this weekend. But I've also been stupidly busy.
 
I think I finally got a rare cat visit, but of course, during the overnight period so no picture. :( Mr. Meowgi.
 
Excitement for me last night: when I check just after midnight it had snowed! I'd see a picture of a snowy yard on one of the web sites that talk about the game, but no mention of how or when it happens. It just seems to be random.

So of course I immediately bought the snow sled, and then populated the rest of the yard with warming items -- hot water bottle, sock, kotatsu, warming mat, etc.

Oh, we posted at the same time.

A discussion board I landed on last night after I saw the snow seemed to indicate it's random. Lot's of places on the same day (today being one, December 19 being the last one) but no correlation to geography or actual local weather. (After all spring is well under way here in Vancouver :D.)
 
I got snow!

I am missing one normal cat, but I don't know its name. On the same page as Willie, Dottie and Spooky.

I got the pyramid tent, and Ramses have visited 2 or 3 times - I have yet to get a picture.
