Nebelhorn Trophy 2024 - Women's SP & FS

Mone - hot pink skirt - bodice has shades of hot pink, magenta, fuchsia and gold spangles/stones over mostly nude illusion and is one armed. She also has a ponytail with a hot pink 1" band/scrunchie and this seems very... Juniorish. Plus, who picks Donna Summer during a season when the RDs are mostly picking disco????

that was really nice!
skate of the day for me, but I am not sure the combo was fully rotated - that might be the difference between first and second

Isabeau is lucky that some of the better skaters in this field had rougher days than she did - Hana, Maddie, Kimmy - otherwise she'd be out of the F6 for the FS. And she's lucky that she's not too far off the lead and can probably pull up for a medal if she skates reasonably well.

But, man, these results are something.

It's so weird too because her speed and technique on moves are so good, and usually that helps with jump technique. However, she totally freezes up going into a jump. It's like she doesn't trust them.
I’ve said it since she was a Junior, maybe even before that, every one of her jumps has a gimmick into it. I know that steps in give you some extra points but I bet she couldn’t do anything double axel or up with just crossovers and a plain entry (I’d love to be proven wrong). On her flip her picking leg was above her head. Not only is it not good for a jump but it’s also going to mess with the hip and back! She is a beautiful skater and I do think this program fits her nicely.

Full blown "e" on the lutz for Levito, plus a q on the toe. GOEs mostly -4 with even one -5. Yikes. This kind of scoring on a "clean" element is a much bigger problem than the fluke fall on the flip, which garnered all of 0.08 points between the << and the fall deduction.

I'm not sure what has been going on with her lutz. It has always been weird, but started to get really flutzy last year, which is the first time I recall an "e" call. Prior to that, she'd usually escape with no call or a ! at worst. I've mostly defended her technique, but this combo has become both an eyesore and a huge liability.

She may want to consider switching to 3F+3T and 3Lo solo jump until she gets this under control. An "e" is just deadly, especially in the short program, between the loss in base value and mandatory negative GOE.

Happy to see Dupuis ahead of Schizas, who is going nowhere. I'm a little surprised Schizas is trying for Milano-Cortina and will be more surprised if she makes it.
It might be the best for her she's literally skated for the last couple of years with mediocrity and gotten away with it including Nationals where she actually lost but was the only skating with the minimum scores. She might actually have to win now to go back to Worlds if the other girls get the minimums.

U.S. Senior woman Jill Heiner is skating to Breakfast at Tiffany's for her FS. And has a good chance to make Nats. Sounds like she and Isabeau are wearing the same dress. :)
OK, not quite the same dress. Isabeau's dress has more bling (not just pearls around the neckline), a lower back and a longer skirt. ;) As for her skating...I like this program for her and think it could be really good by mid-season. I wonder if some of the jump difficulties were due to the choreo being so new.

Millie Murdock with good spins, popped jumps and a very strange music edit to Evita. Don’t Cry for Me Argentina (Miami Mix) is a thing that exists.

Well I’ve been half-awake watching and none of those women made me want to post anything. Except that Korea really is in trouble lady-wise.

Korea hasn’t sent what’s left of their A-team out. If C. Kim is her usual self and Y. Kim comes to play, Korea will be fine. I would bet on the former, jury’s still out on the latter.

I guess Wi was getting dinged on the URs. The programme was unmemorable but I was expecting her to at least break 100, even with major mistakes on the last two jumping passes.

Chaeyeon should be okay, Yelim - yes, one never knows what to expect with her. Minchae Kim was pretty good at juniors and sort of got lost in the shuffle last season, but I think she could be a surprise contender. We'll have to just wait and see.

Kimmy - brown, gold and red dress with some large gold stones that look like coins - Gladiator soundtrack - didn't she have this for part of last season also? I don't hate this costume for her - it compliments her complexion/coloring very well, but there's too much brown, IMO. I'm guessing the tech panel will review a bunch of these jumps. She looks really happy at the end of her program though, so good for her.

Pinzarrone had Gladiator. Not Kimmy, that I saw.
