Nathan will have 2 book signings this weekend at Bookstore Plus in Lake Placid

I wonder if this is in any way related to the Valieva decision?
Why would it? From the linked InsideTheGames blog:

18:32 Owen Lloyd:

Olympic gold medallist Nathan Chen has withdrawn from the FISU World Conference.

There are said to be contractual conflictions for the American, which have only been discovered now.

He is still due to come to Lake Placid but it has been confirmed to insidethegames that he will not be speaking [tomorrow 1/14/23].

SOI dates are out. Schedule is a bit odd.
Not odd but expected ;) (begins after the CSOI tour this year):

I don't know. Leaving out San Jose, one of strongest selling cities last year, is kind of a headscratcher. Palm Springs seems fairly random.

Because he committed to it a while back.
Nathan committed to being an Ambassador in October August but I only found his name associated with the conference in December (ETA that his conference participation was announced in mid-November).

Unlike the CSOI tour, the 2023 U.S. tour dates & cities are not the same as in past years (I mentioned in the GSD thread that Palm Springs is a brand new arena) so it comes down to arena availablity & costs.

Obviously those are considerations. But I'm looking at the schedule and wondering who was it that thought that Palm Springs would make a good tour stop in between Seattle and Chicago. Would it even break even? I guess we'll see.

Nathan wasn't announced for the gala originally (like Karen Chen & the Browns) so that would be great if he's skating on Monday!
