Notice that except for Shaun White, he's the only one who has a full 1/2 hour to himself!
I think Nathan does too (typo): Monday 5:45-5:15 p.m. MT should be -6:15 p.m. MT

I was told he's not doing a pre-Skate America media call so this is the one media opportunity before he makes his season debut in Las
Vegas.

I think it's okay to list what's printed here in his fan thread ;):
Nathan Chen
SP: "Eternity" and "Nemesis" by Benjamin Clementine
FP: Mozart medley
Choreographer: Shae-Lynn Bourne
Looking forward to seeing his first practice run through via Peacock online tomorrow!

We don't know yet which group he'll be in - the men will practice between 11:35 and 12:55 Pacific time on Thursday.

ETA another article based on his Team USA Media Summit video interview with journalists on Oct. 18:

Fan cam of Nathan's Mozart medley FS partial run though in Las Vegas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTAty6k2_PQ

1st part is the Adagio movement of Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 (memorably performed by Kostner in her 2011-12 FS & Papadakis/Cizeron in 2014-15 FD); then Lacrimosa from the Requiem Mass in D Minor; with a techno/modern version of Lacrimosa (his footwork) to end.

ETA: Think the last part is the Apashe version of Lacrimosa but wihout any of the voiceovers, thankfully. :D

Phil Hersh's tweets re. Nathan's program music: https://twitter.com/olyphil/status/1451307613149437967
1 / Nathan Chen just texted me with some more info on his music. The Mozart-based remains work in progress in terms of the Apashe section: "We originally added the `that was Mozart' drop but it actually reduced the energy in the end. . .
2 / "The rest of the cut we found differed too much from the main melody of Lacrimosa and no longer remained recognizable and so ended up with the version I have now. . .” (more).
3 / "Again, as with all things, we are using this competition to learn, so if it doesn’t seem quite right in competition we’ll update for future competitions."
4 / On reprise of Nemesis for the short: ”Everything up until last step sequence is new. Just revisiting Nemesis for the step sequence. Will be done with all jumping passes before nemesis kicks in.” Most of the short is from “Eternity” by the same composer, [Benjamin] Clementine
Jackie Wong's tweets re. Nathan's FS music: https://twitter.com/rockerskating/status/1451272059695165440
Chen told me he's been saving Mozart for the Olympic season: "I watched Amadeus a few yrs back & was drawn to the music. It's the perfect season to finally skate to it. Each section allows me to tap into diff styles of my skating - from ballet to contemporary to modern movement" ...
"We actually listened to the remixed version first and were really excited with how it sounded."

Christine Brennan's article (no new quotes AFAIK - some are from Nathan's virtual media summit presser):

Nathan debuted his SP today in practice to Benjamin Clementine's "Eternity" with "Nemesis" coming in at the end for his footwork sequence that he skipped in his run through because he had fallen on his 3A (after landing 4Lz and before landing 4F+3T) and so "In typical NChen fashion, after he fell on the 3A in program runthrough, he drilled a whole bunch, landed 5 of 5" according to Jackie Wong: https://twitter.com/rockerskating/status/1451645825797398528

On he process of his SP music selection: https://twitter.com/rockerskating/status/1451644600435625985
"Shae and I originally didn't even consider Nemesis, but the end of Eternity wasn't strong enough, so we played Nemesis again while we were looking for more pieces & we were like, 'yep that's it, that's the one.'

I know it's an odd thing to say after the jumping mistakes and score, but I like Nathan's short program.

Hopefully, he's just getting out the cobwebs. When I read the article where he discussed Simone Biles, I hoped it was a sign of a good perspective and not a sign of him getting into his head and feeling the pressure. I hope he has a great skate tomorrow.

Yes, he fell at Worlds on the same 4Lz in the SP. I personally feel putting both 4Lz and 4F in the SP is overkill and he should just pick one plus the 4T. IMO, the extra little bit of BV from doing both isn't commensurate with the added risk and I would rather he just do the WTT layout with 4F and 4T.

I agree with this. I don't think he needs both in the short. I'm sure they will be playing with his jump layout.
