I didn't see that there was a thread for this. I just read there have been 19 deaths and wanted to check in with our Tennessee posters and those who have family and friends in the area.

I hope everyone is okay. This sounds like it was devastating.

That is awful!!
Pouring rain and thunder woke me up around 2 a.m. (southwest Ohio). I had to turn on the t.v. to see if there were any warnings. We were o.k.

I was worrying about some cousins in the Nashville area, but just went to FB and my cousin just marked himself safe. Relieved!

My sister moved to Tennessee about 2 months ago. I have no idea where her town is in relationship to the tornado and she is a horrible communicator. Bah.

Cross posting here because I realized it could be useful. :)

I'm having phone issues because of the tornadoes and I'm 2-3 hours away from Nashville. Anyone on a Verizon network or other carrier using the Verizon network may not be able to check in with loved ones. It's gotten better as the day goes on and I'm sure they are working overtime to get the communication networks back up.

So sad to read about. Sending my best wishes and prayers to Nashville and all of Tennessee - esp. our FSUers there! Hope at least the services can be restored quickly!

My BIL's boss and his family are one of so many who lost their home - it literally collapsed on top of them but they were all able to claw their way out of the damaged home. They lost everything but the clothes they were wearing...and their lives.

Such devastation. I pray for everyone affected by this.

I lost power for about 8 hours but I’m good now. Massive damage in the area.

I am SO glad that you're all right! HUGS :)

Sending love and prayers to everyone in Tennessee who was affected by those storms. Scary stuff! :yikes:

If you are going to have a disaster, Nashville seems like a "good" (you know what I mean) place to have it. Everybody will help everybody. All of the country stars will probably pitch in money and help, like Dolly did after the Gatlinburg fire.

We had tornadoes here on Memorial Day and there are still houses with tarps on them, stores and restaurants that haven't opened back up, people still trying to get money. And people from Dayton are taking supplies to Nashville.

See? -

Only in Tennessee. :)
