Moving on up - How will they do at the senior level?

I will be fascinated to see how (should they either avoid puberty for a bit longer, or cope with the transition) the Russian wonder tots like Anna Shcherbakova, Alexandra Trusova, and Alena Kostornaia will do once they hit the senior international level in a few months.

Will the judges immediately take to them? Will they overtake the current leaders? Will they be rewarded with senior level PCS right off the bat?

Of course this is all speculative.

I expect they'll do really well at first, like Evgenia and Alina did. Everything will depend on how they handle puberty and how long they can stay injury-free.

If Trusova and Shcherbakova hit their jumps, they’ll be able to win without the pcs. I’m most interested to see what the judges do with Kostornaia, because if her skating develops in the trajectory that it has so far I really think she’ll deserve top tier pcs — but really they’re all bunched up at the top anyway and it doesn’t really seem to matter or reflect what’s happening on the ice in any way ?‍
