I love his voice. At work, when we were doing something mindless, we'd have the radio on and keep score of who could guess the artist. His sound was unmistakable.

His voice, as one of my Parents favourite Country singers of that era, is one of those voices that really triggers so many great memories from that time w/me. We still sing Okie From Muskokee (sp?) when we have a bonfire, as it's just one of *those songs* that's perfect for those kind of nights.

This was a piece of news I hated, hated, hated to have to go up to tell my Parents about the other night. He really was such a part those times in our Family.
