I just hope Raonic can put up a good fight in the final, unlike Bouchard when she made her Wimbledon final. Dont get me wrong, Bouchard's achievement was still huge but falling in such a slaughter while not even facing a huge name legend like Serena, took a bit of shine off the whole thing. I know Raonic will probably fall to Murray, but I hope he makes it a good contest.

Yes, but defeating Federer On his route to the final alone is a great achievement, and it was close between the two at the Queens Club final a few weeks ago. I'm sure it will be an exciting match
 
OK the Ladies final is about to start and I have my fingers crossed that Serena doesn't demolish Angelique. Angelique has to remember she beat Serena in a FS this year.

But oh no we have here in the UK on the BBC John ' verbal diarrhea' Inverdale commentating with John McEnroe and Lindsay Devenport :(. Nothing wrong with McEnroe and Davenport but oh my goodness Inverdale is just awful :rolleyes:
 
Kerber is playing very well - but Williams is serving exceptionally and as could be seen when she broke at the end of the 1st set to take it playing the big points very well. Would love it to go to 3 sets but unsure of Angelique can break Serena - maybe take it to a tie-break and see then.

ETA: Serena breaks and serves out for #22 and equals Seffi Graf. So one more to break her and aim for Margaret Courts record.

Love how BJK also says that Serena can get to beat both Steffi and Margaret Court and get to 25 GS's. I want her to get one more before she can safely be enshrined as the GOAT in the open era - then go for 2 more beyond that to beat Margaret Court and be enshrined as the GOAT overall.

I do like BJK really knows her history and commented how many totally wash over Rod Laver only winning 11 majors when in fact he had 5 years of not being able to play in the GS's prior to the open era because he wanted and needed to earn money. 20 GS's where he was not present but winning big in the professional circuit and as he won 2 calendar years GS's - one before he turned professional and one when the Open era started I think it is safe to say he would have won a good 7 or 8 ( and that is a conservative estimate) more GS's in his career. I adore Roger and admire Rafa and Novak but I do think Laver is a definite contender for GOAT in the men's game. Sorry went off on a tangent there.

Congrats to Heather Watson and her partner Henri Kontinen on making the mixed double final in only their 1st torney playing together. See you tomorrow Hev :)

I've seen Cibulkova up close and she is indeed a belter. Lovely face, amazing body and a really nice persona.

Congrats to her and her fella.

And the Williams Sisters win the doubles title!! Their 6th Wimbledon title together, 14th Grand slam title. Two Wimbledon titles for Serena in one day! :glamor: :cheer:
 
Raonic's making it a match at least unlike Bouchard, but he's not likely to take it (if he loses this tiebreak there's extremely little chance).

I do wish his play was more interesting, but hopefully the boys coming up (Denis Shapovalov and Felix Auger-Alissime) can deliver that in a couple years.

ETA - Murray up two sets, let's see if he can do it in three.
 
Loved Andy's reaction, congrats! He's had so many tough finals losses, no wonder this meant so much even if it wasn't the first (which still remains the most nerve wracking match I've watched).

And kudos to Milos for a great two weeks. Go Canada. :)

Andy played brilliantly! And his reaction afterward was so raw — made it plain how much this meant to him. Milos acquitted himself well. When your biggest weapons are your serve and your net play and you're up against someone who can return nearly anything and pass you almost at will, your best won't be good enough. Very entertaining Wimbledon overall, even without Rafa and (mostly) Novak, Maria and Vika.
 
I'm very happy for Andy. With that said, I'm kind of glad this time of the year is over. Australia and the US Open are my favorite times of the season. I just like the energy better.
