Lombardia Trophy 2024 - Men's SP & FS

Martynov - "Sing Sing Sing" - he's got the swingy feel down with his opening choreo. Huge 3a, steps out on his quad. He just did a kiss to the audience at the end of his spin, lol. Decent combo. Okay, I wholeheartedly approve of the move to Amodio since this is the most interesting he's ever been as a skater, lol.

sorry missed a jump due to cat-wants-attention
first kid than cat now only my husband needs to come and distract me
3lutz3toe
oh nearly fell in the last spin but recovered

Jimmy Ma - Stumbles out of the opening 4t; same with the 3a; I do like this flamenco program for him on 2nd watch (fancam vid from Cranberry is out there, lol). Got a combo off. This music change - 100% Jimmy, lol. So is the little hand flair in the middle of his step sequence.

I was able to see Miura’s and Kagiyama’s SP’s on YouTube. I love Kagiyama’s skating to death, but I preferred Miura’s program.

Okay, first North Korean dude! White velvet shirt that ombres into sky blue; black pants. Falls out of the landing of his opening quad. Really nice 3a! Stylistically, he's a little paint by the numbers but pleasant enough. Sooooo, what do we think the chances of North Korea sending skaters to 4CCs in Seoul this season are?

a bit stiff but overall pretty impressive when one considers how isolated his training must be

4toe<< hand down
3axel
3lutz 3toe okay, toe maybe a bit short

Daniels Kockers - sporting a man-pony which is surely the reason for the fall on the opening jump. He has tan tape on his boots and it's distracting, lol. Cartwheel at the end of the step sequence! I guess he didn't get the memo that those are as outdated as the man-pony.

ETA - oh, thank God. Bandit abandoned her obnoxious spot right next to me just as the program ended and right in time to allow me to focus my full attention on Ilia.

Daniel Kockers LTU

huge amount of speed into 4sal, did not look bad in the air but landing lacked conviction and he fell
3toe3toe
oh wow illusion spin very very messy in the legs
he needs more stretch in everything
2axel, looked like he wanted a triple

talent is there but still very very rough, hunched shoulders, not enough stretch etc.

not to rub it in but that was the worst illusion spin I ever saw. I wonder why they put it in the program it was so bad.... even mine is better and I am a really low level skater....

Ilia MALININ

4flip df
3axel wobble
4lutz3toe

I think he grew into his long legs a bit more
the program is build around flashy parts and suits him well but I am not sure if it is a good vehicle for him to grow his artistry

ending pose is pretty cool!

Ilia has abandoned the hoodie and gone with this mauvy-taupe shirt that's guaranteed to give us some Nathan belly-spins. 4f clean - maybe? There was some snow. 3a - bit forward on the landing but fine. 4z+3t great - big roar from the audience. His scratch spin is such a thing of beauty. The crowd really loves the raspberry twist too. He has a lot of conviction in his step sequence and the Ina Bauer right before he hits his closing pose is sooooo deep! Really nice program.

Xavier Vauclin - he's kinda cute. Flamenco-y "I Put a Spell on You" - where do these choreographers find this music? Program was fine.

Sorry, haven't seen Ilia's program, but really so much higher components than Yuma?

Wow, and he also beat Yuma in PCS. (Waiting for the inevitable implosion by Dave Lease....)
LMAO - Dave's just bitter since he lost access to Ilia because USFS told his parents to not do any more interviews with TSL after Jr Worlds 2022. At least, that's my theory. He still has indirect access through Ari but it's not the same, lol.
