Really enjoyed Bridget Jones “Mad about the Boy” today. I know the franchise has not been wildly successful in the US though.

I saw it today. Much much better than I expected. Funny and sad at the same time.

The animations in ne zha 2 are amazing, especially the fight scenes. Can see how it has already made 1.9 billion . It's Chinese mythology which i was unfamiliar with plus the subtitles aren't the greatest but I was still able to follow the movie and loved it. Lots of humor in it and a good post credits scene

Finally saw my final Oscar nominated movie, "Nickel boys" today. It was an uncomfortable watch, and I'm still processing whether I "liked" it or not. A powerful movie, it had some interesting to mildly bizarre choices in terms of cinematography and chronology. Very well-done.

Here’s the latest trailer. My gut reaction was that this would either be a pretty good movie or unbelievably stupid. No middle ground.

This is also Bong Joon-Ho’s first movie since Parasite. And this movie looks like it’s another dark comedy?

This reminds me of arguments about spoilers in the early days of the internet with people on the East Coast saying it was okay to talk about events once they were broadcast there while we on the West Coast complained that they should wait 3 hours and then people in other countries pointing out that other parts of the world still hadn't see whatever it was we were arguing about.

WELP for Mickey 17 in the . The box office was better internationally, but it’s still $53M. I think the budget for this ended up being around $120 million.

Notable opening next week: Black Bag, Novocaine, Opus, The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, and The Electric State (Netflix).
