Because she's Gal Gadot.

That’s true. Gal Gadot is easy to root for.

And Snow White…is……Rachel Zegler, and pretty much all her behavior promoting this film. 🤭

Also - the dwarfs look ridiculous. And I generally hate the look of lot of these live action remakes.

FYI, "A Real Pain" is on Hulu now. I watched it last night. I was a bit reluctant to see it, partly because my family history includes relatives in Poland killed in concentration camps. For various reasons, Benji really dominates the movie. (He really is a pain! And in pain. Kieran Culkin does a very good job. Maybe because he himself can relate to at least parts of the character? Eisenberg reportedly was quite surprised by Culkin's approach to the job, sometimes not knowing if Culkin would show up on set or know his lines.) I'm still processing the movie.
I was so impressed by Jesse Eisenberg’s insight into bipolar disorders/ unregulated emotion, and about how more ‘typical’ people in the orbit of bipolar/hyper-charismatic people are treated by others, and how they manage their own feelings in the face of being compared to such attention-grabbers. This movie expressed so many thoughts/feelings I’ve had growing up with a charismatic, ‘take over the room’, and eventually bipolar relative. It was extremely gratifying to see Eisenberg’s character carve out a good and satisfying life for himself away from the drama of his cousin.

I have to wonder about Culkin. His unpredictability on the set, and his boundary-crushing speech about ‘more kids!’ At the Oscars makes me wonder if he’s dealing with his own similar issues in his personal life.

I avoid them like the plague and I am definitely not going to see one for an animated movie that I dislike.

I have no issue with Zegler's comments because one of the reasons I dislike the Snow White story is how passive the Snow White character is. If the movie could be modernized, I'm okay with that. But not enough to see one of these Disney Live Action cash grabs.

Surprisingly, I liked Aladdin. I really wanted to like Beauty and the Beast. I thought The Little Mermaid was ok, but I don’t really remember any of it. I haven’t watched any of the others and won’t watch Snow White. I’m ok with the modernization of Snow White, too, but it just looks awful and I'd be rooting for the Evil Queen because Gal Gadot.

Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell's 'A Big Bold Beautiful Journey' Delayed From May to September

Moviegoers will have to wait a little longer for the Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell-led romantic fantasy "A Big Bold Beautiful Journey," as Sony has shifted the film's domestic theatrical release from May 9 to Sept. 19.

Sources close to production tell Variety that a September release was more appealing to the studio, as it's filled with more horror and male-centered titles, allowing the female event film to stand out.

"A Big Bold Beautiful Journey" is described as "an imaginative tale of two strangers and the extraordinary emotional journey that connects them." Lily Rabe, Jodie Turner-Smith, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Hamish Linklater also star.

I am pumped to see Black Bag. Michael Fassbender, Cate Blanchett, Rege-Jean Page, Pierce Brosnan... talk about an all-star cast! And the trailer looks amazing. Haven't been this excited for a movie in a while.

I’m looking forward to this movie as well. I typically really like Soderbergh, but the March release makes me a tad nervous about it.

Meanwhile, over at Disney……

I think Disney knows this is going to be a bust and they want it to be as quiet as possible.

Snow White has always been a creepy story, regardless of who you cast in it.
I just saw a trailer on German commercials 20 minutes ago and I couldn't have told who the actors are, cause everybody looks cgi altered :shuffle: I hadn't heard there's going to be a new version, but my initial reaction was ugggh!

This actually looks good. :slinkaway

It’s like Disney has discovered how hideous their animated films have looked and decided to 1000% revamp.

I still don’t understand why Disney didn’t film at least some of Snow White in an actual forest. Also, the CGI dwarfs look hideous.

BTW, in addition to Flow being a superb animated movie and totally deserving of its Golden Globe and Oscar wins, it will never stop being hilarious to me that movies from Pixar (Inside Out 2) and Dreamworks (The Wild Robot) lost to a movie made with Blender, which is a free graphics software. 😂 🐈‍⬛ 💻 🎥

I stumbled across a skating movie called Love On Ice about an Angela Nikodinov like skater: Her backstory is the backstory of the main character. Then you have a very good actress in the main role Julie Berman. Hallmark leading man staple Andrew Walker is love interest.

I've been watching Live with Kelly and Mark. Cate Blanchett was one of the guests today. She was discussing the new movie she stars in that's in the theatres beginning tomorrow, March 14th.

My local independent movie theater opened Black Bag today, so I snuck off to see it. I loved it in spite of a few minor quibbles, so thumbs up!

Saw novocaine tonight. It's a fun action movie (with lots of violence) and Jack Quaid is great in it. A lot funnier and better than I expected!

Seeing black bag Saturday. Super excited

They've done a lot of practical effects for this one, similar to Top Gun. Even if Brad Pitt is only driving an F2 car. But they filmed a lot of stuff on real race weekends. Plenty of the crowds are actually genuine crowds who had stuff handed out to them and then had their reactions filmed! I know a few people whose grandstand was chosen for filming at Spa. Likewise, with the crews. There's a shot of them filming the anthems before the race, for example, that show Pitt standing right next to Max Verstappen.

The use of Fleetwood Mac's The Chain in the trailer hasn't gone unnoticed, but tbh it adds to my concern that it's going to try and make itself a film for both the fanatics and the casuals/uninitiated and will just flop because it really can't be both. And I still complain that in this year of 2025 the main female character apparently exists only to be the main male character's love interest.

Still, I'll almost certainly go and see it in theatres when it releases. I suspect that, very like Top Gun, it will be best appreciated on a big screen.

The main reason why I’m optimistic about this film is that it’s the same director at Top Gun: Maverick (Joseph Kosinski). I’m pretty optimistic that Kosinski will use almost no or very little and discrete use of CGI. If he had used a lot of CGI in the flight sequences, that would have been unforgivable to the first Top Gun movie fans.
