Leather jacket conundrum

I bought a beautiful navy leather biker jacket. I would only ever wear it open but....... I can't quite zip it closed in the off chance I wanted to wear it that way.

Should I return it even though I really like it. Am quite torn. :drama:

As a fat person who can’t zip/button/snap/tie any outer garment up, and who just exclaims “it’s the layered look” as I wear cami/tunic/blouse/whatever underneath anyways, I say keep it.
And when your outer garment is undone, and you walk (strut) a certain way, then it flows back and out and floats and looks like you meant to leave it open and be cool and stuff, and not that you can’t do it up.

So I tell myself, anyways. :glamor:  :shuffle:

I think it would depend on how you like to wear your jacket, and the weather. If you need to zip it up for warmth or protection from the rain, I'd take it back.

It would also depend on how much it cost. It it didn't cost much, you might keep it anyway just to wear open every watch in a while when it worked for a certain out.

I don't like having jackets that don't close, myself. I have a winter jacket that it bit too small but will just button up one button so it is flopping around me. I'm routinely throwing balls for a dog, and a flapping jacket would annoy me.

I have a leather jacket that I can close, but it’s too hot to wear closed when I’m indoors. I’d use the shoulder test... Stretch your arms forward and see if it pulls through the upper back or if the sleeves ride up more than an inch or two. If it pulls/rides, it’s too small. If it doesn’t, your just a bit lumpy in front and you should keep it.

It fits quite well in the shoulders and arms.

It was $450.00 Can dollars

I would not be wearing it for warmth per se. Isu is not meant as a winter jacket, it is more being fashionable for sure.....

I sure do appreciate your opinions!!

I myself like to have the option of closing, even if I never do (I when I try on cardigans I always button them up to see how the buttons look closed, and won't buy if it doesn't close nicely, but I can't remember the last time I ever buttoned a cardigan)

Leather doesn't stretch that much. TBH if I paid $450 for a jacket that I couldn't close, I'd take it back. You can get a faux-leather jacket at Joe Fresh for a quarter of that price if your main goal is looking fashionable.
