Joshua Farris: Not Allergic To Gold - the Uber thread!

He is not known to be at Champs Camp right now which is a little disconcerting. Fingers crossed he competes this season!

To the best of my knowledge, Josh had to take time away from training, due to re-occurring concussion symptoms. That was back at the end of June. He had been continuing as a coach. Not sure what his status is now.

Can you tell us your source for the "re-occurring concussion symptoms"?. AFAIK, neither Josh nor his team has given any reasons for his non-appearance at events and have not said he has ceased training.

Not to say that I am not worried :(Fingers crossed for Josh!

It's a huge relief to know he's been well enough to coach. I don't want him stuck in a dark room for the rest of his life.

Of course, it would be extra awesome if he could skate, but more importantly, I want him to be healthy enough to live a relatively normal life.

Maybe they don't want to say publicly, why he has not appeared at events. Especially the concussion symptoms are reappearing. Of course that is IF. I would think he is not at champ camps because he didn't skate last year? And maybe USFS knows more about his situation (injury) than we do?

I would love to see him compete this year. I saw him compete in person, 2 years ago - his programs were very special.

I doubt the fact that he was off last year is relevant. He is assigned to NHK. Skaters who are selected for a GP assignment are typically invited to Champs Camp. The fact that he wasn't there suggests that he's either not far enough along in his training right now, or is not yet recovered enough, to participate. The fact that no announcement has been made suggests that he is still hoping to compete at NHK. We'll just have to wait and see.

Whoa, whoa, let's not go down this path of speculation.

When Josh is ready for us to know, we will know. Until then, let's not jump to conclusions.

At this time, with no word from Josh, I am assuming that all is going ahead and we will see him at NHK as planned. Perhaps before, I don't know.

In the footage from the instagram story the filmer is following him from behind as he strokes casually and easily alongside a smaller person (a student?). The filmer then calls out to him, and he stops, turns, and gives the camera a huge smile and wave.

I didn't cry to see him skating and then smiling. I didn't! It was the onion-cutting ninjas I swear.

Me right now: :D

I am happy to see Josh's choreography and even more happy that he's healthy enough to choreograph in the first place.

Plus him still doing the splits is pretty impressive.

I do miss the glasses though.....I thought he was required to wear them now.
