I can still remember thinking about that goofy Gomer Pyle drawl and then hearing that booming Jim Nabors voice. What a surprise! No! What a shock! Could that really be the same person? And what a reminder to myself that what we see is not always what is really there. Rest In Peace, sir...RIP.

Actually this is sad news. He was a great singer and a great comic talent (even though he didn't think so, from what I read). Being a child of the black/white TV age, he gave many hours of entertainment.
