JGPF Qualifiers -
Shimada 🇯🇵 15+15 = 30
Wada 🇯🇵15+13 = 28
Nakai 🇯🇵13+15 = 28
Kim 🇰🇷 15+13 = 28
Wang 🇨🇳 15+11 = 26
Gladki 🇫🇷 13+11 = 24

Alternates -
1 - Shin 🇰🇷 9+13 = 22
2 - Okada 🇯🇵11+11 = 22 (366.89 combined total score)
3 - Ko 🇰🇷 11+11 = 22 (357.00 combined total score)

It's not so much that I love Gladki or anything but more I was rooting for anything to break up an all-Asia JGPF group of qualifiers. Once Sophie flamed out, she was the last hope, so I had to actively root for her, lol.
What difference does that make? I find your comment of the “last hope” to be odd?

What a fabulous junior Grand Prix for the young women, I think the best one of the season and so lovely to hear PJ announcing. So impressed with the Chinese skaters in particular, lots of talent and both technically and artistic.
I am excited to watch the JGP final live in Grenoble with this level of skating.

What's odd about appreciating a decent geographic spread for the GPF qualifiers rather than having it dominated by one country or region?

Countries I can understand, but Asia is the largest continent so encompasses several top skating countries. No worries maybe just me..

The USFS was in a low-win situation after last Saturday. Either they stick to their original plans and not give her a chance to qualify for the JGPF - which would have drawn valid criticism given the sorry state of our jr women on the JGP so far this season - or they give her the shot and things go poorly because of all the reasons you pointed out this wasn't likely to turn out well, or maybe they go well and Sophie qualifies (or at least acquits herself well). I can't blame the USFS for taking the risk here - again, it's not as if the rest of our jr women are lighting the world on fire - and Kalin certainly hasn't done that yet during her 5 previous JGP assignments over the course of the last 3 seasons.

I do agree that there was a very questionable coaching choice in having her go for the 4s - especially after the wonky landing on the opening 3a - of course, it could have been sheer stubbornness on the part of the skater and it's a certain learning experience for her regardless of whether or not the 4s attempt was sanctioned by the coach or not.
I just turned off the video after that 4s attempt. Disappointing to see that choice. I don’t know who made that call but I think it wasn’t the best decision.
