I get the yellow jacket on top, but not the white sheer skirt? Looks like two different costumes, fall on 3z and falls on her second attempt in the second half, not her best jumping day, good speed throughout program, I want her to look up more to engage and present the program

Falls on opening 3a, 3z-3t landed but toe axeled, bails on 3r, this is really falling apart, shades of junior worlds, ballet music is tough to pull off without the underlying fundamentals of posture, extension, and performance. For her, it needed to be clean to match the majesty of the music

Huge opening 3f, hand down on 2a-3t, and pops 2r, let’s see if she can regain focus, nice long standing rest break, regroups with 3-2s, more pops, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of choreography in the program or perchance because of the mistakes, she never settles into it

If Karen were here she’d agree with me that the Iceland girl should never wear pale mauve. She’s so unearthly pale she faded into the ice.

I think I missed Ko at her first JGP because I'm sure I'd remember this music. Then again, maybe not, since she's just another Korean woman skating-bot with no expression or relation to the music. And plastering on a fake smile during the choreo sequence and then nearly stumbling up into your last spin does not count as expression. She'll earn no less than bronze, but I'm going to be hoping for no more than that - and that some of the women with a chance to make it into the JGPF skating in Slovenia & China push her into Alternate status.

Opening 3z-3t tight, pops loop, nice, fluid arms, after loop mistake, hitting her jumps, she’s fighting out there, little wobble on sliding move, but handled it, nice expression in step sequence

If I can spot Ko's URs, they're pretty noticeable. But that was a powerful skate and I'm pretty sure she did enough for the podium after the last few skates.

Waoruka is as special in her own way -- and appears so far to be as solid -- as Mao in hers.

Kaoruko - yeah, I definitely remember her program from Czechia. I still do not approve of the color palette of her dress and I lament the lack of a big, honking, faux "Heart of the Ocean" necklace. That program was pretty robotic and lacking expression also. You'd think she'd be putting a fine point on how well she skated by holding that ending pose more than a millisecond.

Regal and elegant, 3z-3t with knee hammer technique, showing nice sensitivity to the music, 3f-2t-2t smaller jumps than at beginning of program, think Japan kinda did her wrong sending her with Shimada because she could go for gold in any other field

Maybe it's the wild, un-pulled back hair flapping all over her face.

So, Mao decided that she was unhappy not having the #1 SB after Glenn & Lin-Gracey blew past her by 8-9 points in the last 2 weeks and decided to land her 4T today, lol.
