Here is footage of Tenley Albright doing figures in competition.

Notice that some judges are so close that they have to step back in real time from her figure while she is doing it in competition because they were standing so close she could have hit them.

 
1932 Olympics men's competition:

According to the narrator, Montgomery Wilson CAN (bronze medalist) performed the first double jumps in ISU competition. We can see them here. Like many firsts, not very clean.

I also see during the free skating elements practice session that she was landing some double axels. Did she ever try them in competition?
