In Memoriam

Vladimir Shklyarov was laid to rest today.
Several hundred people came to the Mariinsky to pay their respects, the queue was impressive.
Of course, the who-is-who of the Russian theater scene was there.

Sleep well, beautiful prince...
So sad and such a loss. I was fortunate to see his brilliance in Spectre de la Rose and Little Humpbacked Horse in visits to Kennedy Center.

Not sure if this was mentioned before but actor John Ashton died from cancer on September 26TH this year. He is best remembered for his reoccurring role in the Beverly Hills Cop movie franchise.

Wow....John Black and now Roman. Poor Marlena. I haven't watched "Days" in decades but they have now lost two very memorable characters who were both "Roman" at some point on the show. RIP (and to the actor who played Doug too.)

The original Roman Brady, also married to longtime General Hospital actress Lynn Herring. DOOL and its numerous fans have been hit quite hard with the death of many legacy folks recently.

Aww man! RIP Earl Holliman. I was a huge fan of Police Woman back in the day when I was a pre-teenager. The first time I ever posted a picture of celebrities on my bedroom wall was one of him and Angie Dickinsen from that show.

The only thing I remember (I think) was that Angie's character's name was Pepper and my aunt had a cute litte cairn terrier named Pepper. I don't remember Holliman there but I do remember him from the film "Giant."

A name that only Progressive Rock fans could place, lyricist Pete Sinfield died. He wrote lyrics for the group that would morf into King Crimson , and wrote for their debut album In The Court Of The Crimson King, and would sporadically co-write with Greg Lake throughout ELP's history. If you don't recognize the name, you certainly recognize his collaboration with Lake, I Believe In Father Christmas, which Lake released as a solo single in 1975, and became a classic ever since.

Wow, Rickey was so young still! Poor guy, he was an amazing talent in the game.
