I Have Got to Stay Out of Sephora (and other glamourpuss issues)

Gah! :wall: Will Sephora restock Clinique Take the Day Off Balm already? I want to use my $25 off coupon. It's the only thing that takes of my eyeliner in one swoop.

So my beauty buy(?) of the week was this hair dryer: http://www.amazon.com/Revlon-1875W-...=Revlon+Pro+Collection+fast+drying+hair+dryer.

I've always gotten cheap hair dryers (i.e., $25 or less) before, because why pay more, right?? But I decided to try this one ($35) because it purportedly was "Fast Drying."

Well, it is indeed more powerful and really does dry much faster than a baseline model. Very nice--I recommend it.

I like that your definition of an upgrade is spending $10 more ;)

Years ago I bought a gently used T3 on eBay for $60 after borrowing my mother's once and loving it. Best money I ever spent. It dries my thick hair much faster than drugstore-level models and it's not so loud. I don't know that I could quite bring myself to spend $200 on a brand new model, but less than $100 :cheer2:

I didn't even know $200 hair dryers existed! ;)

I only ever buy the $20 cheapie hair driers. I only use it for about a minute to get the excess dampness out. Any more blow drying than that and my head will look like a giant frizzy puffball. :D

MUFE is launching in Croatia in 2 days.
What is a must buy?

I am prone to foudnation and concealer.

@IceAlisa that looks stunning!!! Like it would actually motivate me to use mineral eyeshadows. Seriously, I have some amazing colors I am too lazy to use.

Really enjoying the bolder burgundy (which reads as plum in different light) in my hair. It goes nice with my winter clothing which has, besides my basic black and jeans, a lot of purple tones. Also, it really pops the green out in my eyes, which are a kind of wishy-washy blueygreeny.
My hair has also been static free and not nearly as dry as it usually gets this time of year.

Someone up thread (@Anemone ?)suggested a Burt's Bee's product for cuticles. I didn't get that exact product, but I did get the hand salve which has helped my poor be-labored hands quite a bit. So thanks!

Eta....Lol.....and just as I posted this, a student walked by my desk and said, I like your hair!

I decided to take my colorist's advice & take prenatal vitamins + biotin to grow out my hair faster. Ugh. Now I remember why I couldn't take prenatal vitamins when I was pregnant--give me horrible nausea. And I was already pretty badly hit by morning sickness. :(

When I was pregnant I did multi vitamin + Folic Acid (which is all pre natals really are). Actual pre-natals was terrible for me too, I threw up from them. The combo worked fine.

I don't know if there was a slightly different composition in them separately? I also did the gummy multi vitamins, which don't have iron (since they worry about iron overdose for kids).

Anyway, you may try a straight up Folic Acid supplement.

I just took biotin supplements and it really helped my nails and hair (I have baby fine, very thin hair, and the improvement was noticeable). I'm not sure why I stopped taking them. I need to start back up.

Thanks. I was able to take folic acid no problem but am wondering which part of the prenatal vitamin helps grow hair (if it works at all, pure hearsay at this point.)

Which Biotin supplement are you taking? Just straight up Biotin or some special brand - I think there are supplements specially marketed for hair/nail growth labeled as such (like super growth or whatever).

Oh I have plenty of hair. It's just my (former) hair dresser had recently cut off 4 inches after I told her I want to keep the length. I want it back and I want it now.

EVERYTHING!!!!!

Seriously, you must try their eye shadows, a foundation, blush and eye liner.

In my opinion, Make up For Ever(MUFE) have the best, BEST eyeshadows on the market. The quality is unbeatable and for the amount of product you get you can't lose. It is a winner.

This my Sephora hall from the VIB rouge sale.

Marc Jacob's style eye con 20 palette, Urban Decay Vice palette, MUFE step 1 primer(hydrating formula), beauty blender, First Aid Ultra Repair Face moisturizer, Kat Von D's Metal Crush shadow in Paranoid, Marc Jacob's Le Creme Lipstick in Boy Gorgeous, Beseme classic lipsticks in American Beauty and Cherry Red(not shown) and Ole Hendriksen's The Works kit.

Then last week Sephora sent a $25 off coupon in the mail. I went to the sephora mall store and picked up one of my favorite parfums(Prada Candy gift set).

Not to mention that I bought some stuff from Nars and Bobbi Brown's black friday and cyber monday sales. Both cosmetic lines had 20% off when buying directly from their websites. I picked up a few of the new Bobbi Brown lux lipsticks and Nars' lip gloss, lipstick, and loose powder.

Ok, I'm on the biotin now too. I barely have ANY hair, you can see my skin clearly under my eyebrows! Yes, it grows that thinly and Slooooowly.

ETA: I'm thinking of getting the Becca Skin Perfector and the Hourglass Ambient lighting with my coupon!

Anyone have any ideas for a cool tones palette with less neutrals and more colors? Esp pink/purples.

My problem when I look at the naked palettes is they all look to have so many Browns - except smokey which is all grey.

I guess there is a biotin fever on FSU.
I just started taking it on Friday for my nails.
@topaz I think I will start slowly. I need to research their shades of foundations to buy the proper one. I am drawn to Mat Velvet. I am currently using MAC Studio fix fluid in NW 10 and am loving the shade on me. it matches my neck and chest perfectly and thats how I like it.

I would donate hair if I could. SO observed that under some circumstances I look like Medusa, and he's right.

I've donated my hair before and probably will do it again. It grows so fast. The first time it only took a little over three years to go from hair about an inch long to having enough to donate.

The HD liquid makeup is amazing. It evens out and brightens your skin without looking pasty or cakey. Do try it.
