I can’t even imagine the simultaneous pride and terror of being Simone’s mom.

Give Simone all the credit for tossing off that fall and then landing a second difficult vault perfectly.

tbh I'm kind of relieved Simone made a mistake I don't like when they are too perfect this far ahead of the Olympics

I hope that means Sam will be commentating the Olympics. I think she's really good.

It did seem odd that they showed her mom’s reaction and they didn’t do a shot of her husband while Simone was on vault.

After that, I'd say you'd be taking people for the experience looking forward to 2028 so

She’s certainly an improvement from Nastia. I think it helps when you’ve commentated college gymnastics.

I don't know if Sam is commentating for sure but I do know that she's working with The Today Show for their Paris coverage which makes me think that she is going to be part of the NBC/Peacock commentary team for gymnastics. I've enjoyed Sam's commentary for NCAA for a while so I'm looking forward to having her in Paris (if she's truly part of that team).

She has a 5.8 D score already, she just gets so many execution deductions on the dance that she needs to push it way higher.

I don’t think Nastia would be fired because she’s a contractor For most of the people doing this it’s contract work when they need them.

Of course, knowing NBC and their absolute infatuation with Johnny and Tara, they’ll probably somehow make them be in charge of commentating gymnastics?

At least judges are being realistic about this and not just ignoring deductions on the national level unlike certain other sports.

I have a lot of respect for Terry Gannon. He was a basketball player, but he brings great respect for both gymnastics and figure skating and has worked hard to learn about the sports, especially skating. He comes across as a nice guy, too.
