1984 Larisa Selezneva - Oleg Makarov OLYMPIC SP - Uncle Dick really liked this program

Valova & Vasiliev (URS) - 1984 Sarajevo, Pairs' Short Program - Of course, skating to Kalinka.

B/S 2002 is probably the greatest for me. Quality of elements and movement combined is simply unmatched anywhere. The lift was probably not as perfectly executed as other technical elements in that program. But the "plastique" quality of every move was sublime, especially from him.
I agree. This one is my absolute favourite and I am not even a fan of pre-COP programs. (I started watching skating later, so I have no emotional connection to that era).

Mishkutenok and Dmitriev 1991 (and part of 1992) Short, "Dying Swan:" https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6j0nz
I think this may be from 1990 worlds because the commentator mentioned GG and BE. In 1991 GG had already turned pro.

The marks are absurdly low - 5.3 & 5.4 from one judge! I couldn't read what country that judge representEd. The 5.6, 5.7 were also too low.

Some of the marks were ridiculous but they still took 3 1st place ordinals over a clean G&G which was quite the feat, especialy as they were relative newcomers at that point which was big in scoring back then. Actually I think G&G had 5 1st place ordinals, M&D 3, and Selezneva & Makarov 1, so they came close to winning the short.

I loved, loved, loved them, especially her. He moved so beautifully in this program, too. I was :fragile: when they stopped skating.

Under her married name, Marina Akbarov, she coaches (with her husband) at Wheaton Ice Academy as a spin specialist.

Leonovich coached Gordeeva/Grinkov after Zhuk, and then coached in France. He coached Abitbol and Bernadis after :)revenge:) Beyer.
